I would agree and Arsenal were better than Real quite clearly.

Meh, posed no title challenge at all. Was one of the most boring EPL seasons in ages due to Arsenal and City being useless at keeping up with Liverpool.

Would not say either Arsenal or Madrid had good seasons. Arsenal even lost to United in FA Cup no? Vs 10 men even.

But Arsenal were better than Real... who finished 2nd in La Liga easily.

Finished 3rd in CL Group while Real 11th and lost 5-1 on aggregate to Arsenal when met in QF with Arsenal missing a penalty on top of it.

Real still finish 2nd in La Liga easily despite being that far behind likes of Arsenal who finished 2nd in EPL.

You still dont get why Spain is called a 2 team league.

Winning CL been easier than winning EPL in last 8 years for some is the reality and x3 teams done it.
Epl has been all city and Liverpool for almost a decade. Arsenal are pretenders, will win fuck all, and offer less to pl than atletico have LA Liga on last 10 years

Arsenal are basically Atletico. Except Atleti actually reach CL finals to lose in and have won the league.

Only thing holding Atleti back right now is the manager, like Arsenal.
Exactly.. atletico won stuff and arsenal don't.

As we discussed before, that negative football is the main thing holding both clubs back. But arsenal are something of a bottler club..it pervades the club regardless who the manager is.

Been 21 years since a title and would not surprise me if they don't win the title for that same span again. Even in their good days they only won the title a paltry three times under Wenger.

People mock spurs, but arsenal are underachievers too. It's also only in recent years they've looked a top team. They treaded water for many years before that. You can argue that's adjusting to a new stadium party but I don't think it is. They just have bottling in their DNA.

It's basically the same.

Both leagues for the past 5-8 years have been

Real or Barca with an outside chance of Atleti.

City or Liverpool with an outside chance of Arsenal.

This year looks to be Arsenal or Pool because City don't seem to have signed their way out of transition. But bear in mind post Xavi last season, people expected it to be Madrid or Atleti because we hardly signed and Atleti made big signings. And knowing Pep, in six months time he has got the team where he wants them to be.

So similar.

Obviously chasing pack (mainly looking at Chelsea) have the resources to reach that top 3, that Spanish football don't.

Villarreal are basically the 4th team of Spanish football as of today, and they are what, Spains equivalent of Bournemouth/Brentford/Brighton being consolidated into one yellow package.

Yep both leagues similar in challengers tho epl has stronger middle.

Point is jam is making out epl ismuch more competitive than ls Liga at very top which is clear bollocks

Nothing alike.

Real and Barca will finish top 2 no matter what.

Not same in EPL.

They can have down seasons and still finish top 2 in way wouldnt in EPL
There's four teams max who can finish top two in England.

You challenged me to s bet that united would finish top 5 last season.so maybe talking epl placings isn't your strong suit. No offence mate

Top 2 in Spain - Barca and Real.

Top 2 in EPL...name them. If name more than 2 my point is made.
One more. Big deal. Hardly speaks to a huge difference in quality at top of league.

And Barca and real are much bigger clubs than arsenal anyway and dominate more traditionally. That was true even when la liga was number one.
