They aren't that good. We beat Utd 3-0 last season and Arsenal 2-0 and the season before should have this season too but for our lack of fitness at the start. City where good but have gone backwards and Arsenal might just be coming good after a long time barely getting 4th. Utd still need serious work.

They are all better than Sevilla.

I could hand pick bad results for Sevilla last season against worse teams than they lost too and point to more impressive victories as well.

It wasnt even at all. Team for team the Spanish teams got less points in vast majority.

None of this proves anything anyway. Other than Spain have had two teams dominating the league and the rest are more evenly matched so bigger share of points down to bottom half.

While in England they have a better top half overall that takes more points off bottom half.

The bottom half having mote points proves NOTHING about overall quality of league.

As long as the top half in Spain perform better in Europe it does prove something.

But this discussion is embarrassing enough for the EPL. The fact that a league that has 4 times as much money overall as the Spanish league is behind La Liga is cringeworthy and ridiculous. It really shows how bad the English youth academies are and the tactical amateurs ruling in that league.

I guess we'll see how well Sevilla will do next year in the UCL although they've lost Vidal and it looks like Bacca is going.

Nope, you are again looking at the best three teams in Spain and making out that is the standard of the whole top half.

Don´t think there is much difference between the bottom Teams of La Liga and the EPL.
Besides Cordoba but Queens Park Rangers doesn´t seem much better.

Nope, Villarreal, Sevilla and Valencia have been the best Europa league teams in the last few seasons. Bilbao has also been pretty good, but that team has more soul and tradition than the rest of the EPL put together with their foreign owners looking for a toy, so its almost unfair to put Bilbao and EPL teams in the same sentence.

Sevilla have been the best Europa League team which in reality is a second rate competition which teams dont put too much importance on.

What have Villareal and Valencia done to be called two of three best Europa League teams - which proves barely anything anyway.

England (I'm Irish btw) have a lot of very, very, good players under 22. They might not all make it and the U21 tournament wasn't exactly a great advert but most of them didn't play. There's a lot of talent there.

What about Everton and Tottenham?

We where in the Europa League. Most teams take it seriously. It's only really the English teams that have a reputation of not doing so although we did.

Came top of our group and looked in with a shout until we had a meltdown away in Kiev.

I'm an Everton fan.

Came top of our group and looked in with a shout until we had a meltdown away in Kiev. Hammered Wolfsburg home and away along the way too. Lukaku was the competition's top scorer.

Spurs took it seriously until the game clashed with a cup final and they prioritized that.

Tactically, almost all teams (apart from Chelsea and some other ones) in the EPL are naive and amateurish when it comes to defending, inasmuch as they leave up tons of space due to their die-hard British football philosophy: win it at all costs/rush forward and score. Their fixtures might seem more interesting, as they give the impression that football is being played at high speed. But in reality, they just cannot defend narrowly which results in open spaces between the central defenders and between the defense and midfield (which is also not exploited by English attacking mids, others are good at that though).

Both jombi and jamdav are exaggerating and building narratives to fit their arguments. This "discussion" is going nowhere. Best to drop it.
