Florian Wirtz

Palmer is head and shoulders above Wirtz to name just one. I think he will become a very good player for Liverpool. But I doubt he will ever be as close to as good as they imagined he would be.

Were those academy players officially the best player in a top 5 league for 2 years in a row?
No, but then neither was Wirtz, he won that in the 23/24 season with Bellingham winning it the season before and Kane winning it the season after. I am in the camp that Wirtz will come good by the way, but forcing him into the team now when they can't defend is not good for him or his team mates. I also remember Sancho having a 20G/20A season in the Bundesliga, it counts for less than you think.

I actually thought he would come through, not anymore... this dude and Isak were like 300M  Slot should already watch his back, I'll give him another month or two.

He will certainly improve but don't think he will ever be worth the money they paid for him, or be the player he was at Leverkusen. They want a KDB type impact over the next several years and I don't think he has it in him. He's technically gifted, neat and tidy, and links up well. But (and it's not like me go on about stats) I don't think he will deliver the GA that playmakers or attackers of his price generally must to be considered a statistical success.

But yes, he's easily better than he's currently showing. But don't think he's as good as the fanboys have hyped him as, never did. A bit in the middle.

I still think he can be a part of a team that wins trophies at Anfield, though. But he's a bit of a luxury signing.
