Florian Wirtz

Not sure if being comparable to a 17 year old in his first full season is the flex it should be.

That said, should be compared to other AMC in his position where it should look much more favourable.

If he takes that across to England, then would be impressive.

Nobody here has actually watched him play except a few games here and there.

Same with me.

Won't judge him until he plays for us. The jury is still out. I'll trust Edwards for now.

No one can deny his talent and ability though. There's a reason even Bayern Munich executives have come out and said he's the best German player of his generation.

Everybody who actually watches him play week in week out can't stop praising him.

People are already trying to write him off because he's coming to Liverpool instead of Madrid or Barca. Relax. Time will tell.

I don't believe anyone is writing him off - everyone knows he's a big big talent and it's a big coup for Liverpool. It's just that diagrams, while helpful, are also misleading. Nobody thinks the guy isn't a potential world-class player if he isn't already.

I expect him to do well at Liverpool, but diagrams showing he keeps pace in most aspects with Salah and Yamal should be taken with a pinch of salt. He will be great, but it's doubtful he will make the impact Salah has at Liverpool or Yamal has and will at Barcelona.

Also, just to play devil's advocate again seeing as you're mentioning what the Bayern suits are saying - the Germans said in 2011 that Gotze was one of the best talents they had ever had (Sammer amongst others said it). Look how that worked out.

I think Wirtz will have a MUCH better career than Gotze, however something to consider.

150m is still too much even though Wirtz is a great player. He will have much more pressure next season as fans and media alike will demand for immediate result.

People are not trying to write him off because he is not going to Madrid/ Barca.

People's reservations are that he has only really done it in arguably the easiest top league to score goals in and a league where Timo Werner was a superstar.

Paying 130m for an attacking player from the Buli is extremely dicey, unless the player is so good on the eye test that it is obvious he will be a success in a more defensively stronger league.

Gyokeres passes that test for me , Wirtz hasn't really shown enough to get the same pass.

It's not 150.

Leverkusen will sell him to us for around 120 according to most reports.

We're negotiating rn to bring it down further.

Dude, anyone who watched the Bundesliga knew Werner was a fraud and a pace merchant who's useless without space to run into. Nagelsmann said this indirectly in an interview back when he was his manager.

Wirtz is insanely good on the eye test. Has everything that position requires. Amazing dribbler, excellent close control, pacey, trickery, speed of thought, great final ball, good finisher, hardworking, etc.

Watch some of his clips on YouTube. His ability is beyond any doubts and his underlying stats are amazing all around. Edwards wouldn't spend 120 mil on him if he wasn't scouted and examined properly on all fronts. This is Michael Fucking Edwards we're talking about! Just look at his record/CV.

You are negotiating down on behalf of Bayern, for them to offer 5m more and some pharmaceutical patents at the last minute and snatch him

Only two players have registered 10+ goals and 10+ assists in Europe's top five leagues in the last two seasons: ◉ Mohamed Salah ◉ Florian Wirtz

Don't know if that's something to be proud of or just a sad state of today's generation tbh. Feels like more players should be able to contribute 10+ goals and 10+ assists in 2 seasons.....

I think it's each season. Or maybe you mean nobody has been able to do it in both.

Even still, 10 goals and 10 assists over 34/38 games doesn't seem a high standard given how stats have exploded and attackers are favoured in this era.
