Lando is not that good. Even Piastri is better than him. But the car matters. RB reacted too late imo.

I think at least Max, Leclerc, Russel and Alonso are much better driver than the Mclaren duo but the car makes the difference.
Could add Bearman soon, he's doing a great job so far and is linked to Ferrari. Too bad Hamilton has a contract for another year, he's already better than this version of Lewis.

I think people don't give Lando enough credit and previously it was due to his rookie mistakes, but the hatred escalated after his dismissal of Max in the heat of the championship race last season. At this point it's focused on the persona, not the driver. It's only assumption that Lando and Piastri have unequal cars. Also Lando joined McLaren in 2019, when they were in the back of the grid and contributed immensely to where the team is today.
Even more so if you check Red Bull. Max is top 3 and Tsunoda is 19th with "the same car setup". Yeah... I feel pity for Yuki, it was his dream to land the spot at Red Bull and it turned tragic. He's just a test pilot for Verstappen. Shows how much they care about Yuki and his Honda contract moving on to Ford engines.

I don't think Max needs DNFs anymore, Lando will shit his pants now that Max is so close, Piastri has no chance anymore anyway.
This will be one of the greatest titles in F1 history and Max is getting awfully close to Schumacher status as the GOAT, he's probably already ahead of Senna and it's just a question of time when he'll be on the top. I'm not really his fan but he's just that good.

If Verstappen pulls this title it will indeed be one of the greatest in F1 history. Verstappen just doesn't get fazed, by anything - ice in his veins. I watched probably a majority of Schumi's races, I'm more impressed by Verstappen.

The DQ today was unexpected gift to Max. Brought back the complex point calculations.
58 points are for the grab (with Qatar sprint race) and currently Max is 24 points away from Lando. And Lando's form has been steady since the summer break, it's still a margin of bad sprint + DNF + 2nd place.
If Lando wins in Qatar he's crowned WDC.
I think we are in for an amazing races next weekend (and eventually even greater weekend ahead if Lando does not secure the title next Sunday)...
Lando proved the haters wrong after the summer break that he deserves the title, being incredibly consistent under pressure and locking in...
Max deserves the title for being Max, he just needs the smallest of chance and he will take it... truly in the GOAT contenders in F1...
For Piastri, I think that he just fallen under the pressure in the last 5 races, but now getting disqualified along with his teammate actually gives him another shot... how strange that looks and sound...
