Yeah it's a bit embarrassing, especially because it took several days to lodge the complaint, we'll definitely be the villains next season if we end up getting handed the title. Not to mention after the thing with Massa's gearbox at Austin we're not exactly saints of fair play. At the same time though if Vettel did something illegal it needs to be looked into.
I've watched the video and Vettel passed Vergne right before he hit the green flags, Ferrari says that meant he was still in a yellow flag area so it was illegal. However I read an article that says that if green flags can be seen ahead, then it overrides all the yellow flags even if the car hasn't actually reached that point yet - thus Vettel did nothing wrong. Not sure who is right, have to see what the FIA says I guess.
