sure, thats fair. noone here is saying (well, at least im not) that he is an elite-level manager on par with pep, klopp, etc--only that he did a good enough job with us given the limitations, and that he did better than the train wreck of managers we have had since. nothing more nothing less

Whether Valverde is an elite manager or not in general is tough to say until we see his work at another big club. What shouldn’t be up for debate anymore though is that he did an exceptional job here given the circumstances he had to deal with.

Maybe not, but IMO he has to prove himself with another team before we can give him more credit than an average manager. He's better than Setien or Koeman, but that's not exactly saying much.

I also didn't give Lucho as much credit (for having prime MSN in 14-15) before he did a great job with Spain.
