Valverde was apparently Villarreal's first choice to replace Emery if he'd go to Newcastle but he's staying now.

Why isn't any decent size club interested in him after he did so a good job at Barcelona?.

He was offered Spurs job last summer and declined.
Other than that, there are very few "decent size" clubs that had vacant jobs, Chelsea, PSG had better and more exciting candidates to replace their coaching while Inter and Bayern went for the domestic young coach

I sincerely doubt he was offered the spurs job, doesn't seem like a coach Levi would want, could be wrong though, but u doubt it.

He probably doesn't want to settle for decent clubs, and he's not good enough for the big ones.

I'm pretty sure he could have got a midtable Spanish club if he wanted. In many ways, Bilbao, Sociedad, Villareal, Valencia that's his level. Maybe even Sevilla.

But tier 1 and tier 2 clubs are out of his reach.

Yea I know no big club will ever touch him again, you can't fuck up in the CL like he did twice & expect to land a job at a big club again, but a do nothing club like spurs should theoretically be interested in him.

It is not down to results like Liverpool that top clubs would not be after him but more they realise what his time in Barca was. A good squad on its last legs that they played in way to try and get best out of an older team.

That is not what top clubs are looking for even if right approach for him and Barca at that time.

Even if Barca win the treble in 2019 he is not getting top jobs off the back of that stint. In similar way Lucho bar a rumoured approach from Chelsea wasnt being chased by them either.

As for not taking a job in last year and a half or so he supposedly took time out to recharge and is only now open to getting back into it.

Not been about him holding out for top job.

Yep 100% the main culprit, which he is no club with a reputation will touch him, he had a few supporting characters though.

Barcelona has lost 0-4, 0-3 away from home before him with stronger squad, lost 8-2 in neutral ground with same squad, lost 0-3 & 1-4, 0-3 at home and another 0-3 away after he left with an inferior squad (though not that much inferior for last season) and that is without going back for 5 years before he joined when we lost twice from Atletico, 0-3, 0-4 from Bayern in CL.

But yeah, we have to blame the coach because it happened we play the away game in return leg

Unless we start facing the main issues and don't put the whole blame on coach, we will remain laughing stock.

Can't tell if photographic memory or trauma

Every team loses, sometimes very badly, but our downfall started with this man, well probably Luis last season actually, but then he came in as a new coach & instead of making changes, he was a yes man is entire time here, which slowly but surely brought us to where we are today.

The bartomeu & yes man valverde combo ruined us, sure we lost before him, every single team has had bad loses, but even with our bad loses no one thought of us as pussies, so a list of loses means nothing really but when you have a board that's incompetent & a coach that's a yes man, it just becomes a cycle.
