I mean that's what he and always been and there's nothing wrong with it.

Well Familiar with the league, but relied too much on the Old Guard and pragmaticism and got exposed for it in the CL. Digne was right about him when he said Valverde wasn't a great Communicator and it showed. Valverde wasn't made for a team like Barcelona, same with the likes of Seiten and Koeman if going by his meltdown towards the end of the year.

The cult fanaticism around Valverde around these parts is the weirdest thing I've ever seen.
