Dro Fernández

Weird stuff this.

"Dro’s departure from Barcelona is no longer in doubt. Pedro Fernández Sarmiento has decided to leave the club, and there is no turning back. What remains unclear is when and how he will officially exit, as he is no longer part of the first-team setup.

Despite the disappointment, Barça do not consider the situation fully closed. The club wants to avoid Dro leaving via his €6 million release clause and instead negotiate a transfer fee. They believe their investment in the player, and the opportunities he was given, justify compensation well above the clause—ideally at least €10 million.

Negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming days. Once Dro’s agent, Iván de la Peña, officially communicates the player’s next club, formal talks will begin. Potential destinations include PSG (the most likely), Manchester City, or Borussia Dortmund."

I interpret this as a deal where Dro shouldn't accept leaving for the relase clause, but instead making a deal with Barca that if there is a 10m offer, he can leave and maybe even bag some of that money. Like the Dembele clause where he got half of the 50m release clause.
But isn't the clause officially that the player buys HIMSELF free? Sure I'd like 10M, better yet 20M - but I don't think we legally can do anything about it. Dro though was taken in to Masia, developed and trusted by Flick and given many chances in A - HE could have played with open cards, simply said there are a lot of players ahead of him and/or pointed to our FFP that wouldn't allow us to give him a good enough contract etc. He could have been straight up and discussed how we at least could get a couple of millions for him. But is seems he's being a snake about it...

Yes we have no power here. Just asking him to do us a favour.

Still... as an 18 year old he still got to play pre-season, 90 minutes of LL, 60 minutes in CL etc so far this season. He actually would have a better chance to get more minutes with Barca than PSG - so only explanation is the €. If he at least would be upfront with that and could bring in some more cash for us for what we've done for him than cool - but he didn't and probably won't. Hence he can fuck right off!

Yeah at least there was a buyout clause on Dro. But I'm still much much more madly pissed the fuck off because its fucking QSG!!!

Barca had a unilateral extension clause on Puig but decided not to renew/loan/sell him. Xavi didn't want anyone stealing his "limelight."

As a reaction they are renewing Juan Hernandez.

As said previously he has been the best AM in Ateltic side this season. Better than Guille, Toni, Dro etc in the minutes played.

Small and may cause issues as goes up but had a good season and good to reward him for it.

Wouldnt be surprised if Flick gives him debut tomorrow to make a point.
