Playing position: Left back

Current Club: Atlético Mineiro ​

According to Superdeporte (Valencia Paper) Reports that Both Barcelona and Valencia have been scouting Douglas recently. We see Douglas as one of the Options to replace the likely Departure of Adriano on the Left hand side of the Defense. according to the Article Atlético Mineiro, value Douglas at 10 million Euros.

(Yet another one of my topics I made in regards to players we've been linked to. sorry for beating the dead horse).

He was being called up by Dunga recently to the national team.

But this is the same guy that had a personal grudge with T. Silva and Marcelo and refused to call them up. From the other stories I read this could also be one of those deals where the Agency or Agent wanting their client to be called up in order to be Sold to Europe. :lol:

I guess we came sniffing around possibly due to his low price (aka like the Douglas we have).

But he could also be a solid player as well.

Buying players from Ligue 1 has worked out for us in recent times. Abidal,Rafael Márquez,Ronaldinho,Edmílson,Giuly,Touré. I hope Umtiti turns out great like those guys!

as for Brazil going by recent rumors from the last couple of seasons until now we are looking for another "Alves" (RB wise). while we are looking for Fullbacks across Europe and South america, the club probably wants to find another Brazilian that has similar traits to Alves.

But Adriano, despite his age and steep decline, when fit he was a great servant for us but with him likely leaving this summer we are going to need another LB, We were linked with Wendal another Brazilian LB but he would be costly considering he would only be here as a backup for Alba.

This is where Douglas Santos comes in. But question is would he be a higher priced, Douglas v2? or would he actually be decent enough to be a reliable back up? I've seen people rate him but honestly other than that who knows.

He's just one of the options we are linked with in recent weeks.
