Copa 1/8 Final: Santander - Barca

Will be a dangerous game. They lead the Segunda and we just celebrated a title, which results often in relaxation. Can't afford to lose focus here, it'll be a fight from their side we need to take on.

Cancelo said he is in good shape but don't know if it's realistic to play him already.

Could be last chance to start Jofre. Dont know about other FB and everywhere else we seem stacked now and plenty of options should Flick decide on heavy rotations.

Jofre should bo back to B team or on a loan after the Cancelo loan. No chance he plays now if he didn't even before.

Racing, I can only be reminded of the infamous Eto’O fiasco 19 years ago in February where he warmed up to be substituted on in the closing portion of a match where Ronaldinho scored a brace - Samu was coming off a 4 month injury but then ‘refused’ according to Eusebio and Rijkaard called the player out in the press along with Ronnie…leading to Eto’O’s own pressy to blast the player

Little surprise Laporta had to clean house 12 months later as the dressing room was split, leading to Pep era

I remember watching this on my crappy stream and Samu warming up, from there a lot of BS comments from those involved but you could see the confusion and actions from warm up to not coming on. Pretty clear he refused to come on, for me, it was already clear there were problems in the dressing room but we never recovered as a team after that

They’re surely going to be promoted at end of season, highest scoring side in Segunda but they let in a lot of goals too with their high press, sound familiar?

Andrés Martin is the main focal point up front with Villalibre (Great name) injured. Vicente is the main catalyst in attack as LW or as an interior

Agree that team should be focused, especially since there were clearly phases of match in the SuperCopa final where they still lack sharpness but I do believe we will see some key rotations

Santander are bringing Zigic and Munitis out of retirement for this one.

No chance we make it out of their alive.

Eto'o stayed despite Pep wanting him gone and proved essential to that treble of 2009. Pep got his wish then, we threw out Eto'o and got him Ibra and Eto'o won the treble with Inter directly eliminating us. So yeah, "great" decision by Laporta and Pepi

Hansi Flick: “Goalkeeper for tomorrow? I think Joan Garcia will PLAY.”

Hansi Flick: “João Cancelo can have some minutes tomorrow.” :)

Dro is having some discomfort and will not be a part of the squad to face Racing Santander in the Copa Del Rey.

Imagine Eto'o stayed until 2012 and accept Pep's methods and play in the "Villa role" as a LW. I think we would be even better, for sure in 2010 and 2012.

These guys are n1 in second league, I would play near full strength side if I were you. Still a treble possible, just like for Madrid. Not counting it out until it's impossible.

He was essential to both trebles, no doubt. Also no doubt his ego was too big for a team Pep was building. Samu was a beast of a player who, like many forwards, lived by their ego or a chip on their shoulder - Eto’O played with a chip

He cites Mourinho as the best coach he’s ever had - not to mention implying Pep is racist (since backtracked). Pep is his chip, where just a few years ago he said this about coaching one day:

"I want to be the first coach of color to win the Champions League, and I’ll do it by playing with a team like Guardiola does."

Laporta 1.0 took an enormous risk even trying to get Pep to take over in ‘07 but insisted to start with Barça B, returned to emphasis on La Masia…until the corporate crooks derailed it

So yes in Laporta 2.0, with an interesting reunion with a side where things shifted in Barça’s trajectory
