CL Semi Final: Inter - Barca 4-3

With exactly 2 minutes left 😂.

That's what you do, you do literally anything but go for another goal unless it's dropped in your path.

But I'm not bad, just disappointed.

We could have managed it better.

Maybe next season

Conceded 7 goals to this Inter and only led for what, 5 minutes over 2 legs. Imagine what an in-form Dembele would have done to this high defensive line. Better go out now, losing the final against Lucho and Dembele would be bigger heartbreak.

People will be happy to have played a CL semi again and the team really showed heart but Benfica, Dortmund (who are 5th in Bundesliga), Inter aren't tier 1 teams and if you take Yamal out we probably lose these away games just like all the other away CL games in the past 10 years.

The anfield one was way worse than this.

Anfield was humiliation. This was a spectacle. Think Barca regained a lot of respect with this showing and gain new fans.
100% agree. This is going down fighting with massive injury issues. 7 goals is the dagger though that's about 4 too many

I don't understand why Hansi Flick didn't put Christensen in as a CB, much better football IQ, he played last game, don't even mention he was out for 9 months, and he chose to put Araujo in, now you can understand why Gundogan took him last year.

When Flick was signed my immediate thought was the high line and how reckless it can be. This team managed to bail themselves out most of the season but to expect that it would happen every game, going down by one or two almost every game lately, is unrealistic.

individuals make errors when the systems fails.

If you look at that screenshot.

Raphinha should be covering with Martin.

Which would mean Cubarsi would be more central to potentially cut out the pass.

And we should have de Jong and Pedri around the 18 year box or close, so they could get back into the box as well to cover.

What that screenshot showed is a joke TBH.

Araujo fucked up, but that's secondary to what the real issue is.

What fans like to jump on players
"What fans like to jump on players"

You mean like the players that attacked when they shouldn't instead of time wasting? Those PLAYERS made that mistake, not the coach. Flick wasn't on the sideline commanding them to attack, give me a fucking break. Any professional player should know to take the ball to the corner, fish for a foul and not push up too far. The coach doesn't need to COACH them into doing that to close out a game. They should KNOW they need to do that. Inexperienced youth doesn't help, but they get a pass for getting us there in the first place.

Martin fucked up and didn't clear it. Ontop of it he just fell over. Araujo is just Araujo, the guy you and others always insist should start. Your boy gave us a few more bangers today though, loved it.

I am watching all Barca's KO matches in Europe since 1994's defeat vs Milan.

And there is that feeling in the air that Barca is eternally underachieving.

There isn't a club or NT team (except Netherlands) who has the worst ratio in terms: how good you are versus how many big titles have you actually won.

Tonight was a deja vu of Barca's classical away games in Europe like vs Mou's Chelsea 2005, Mou's Inter in 2010, later Roma, Psg, Juventus, Liverpool.

Every single time we concede some wtf rookie goals.

Some will get angry at this post, but can you imagine Real Madrid losing in Europe in this way?
No. Never.

Real usually loses when they are worse than their opponents.

On the other hand, Barca loses both:
1) when we are worse than opponent
2) and when we are way better

Again, no team in Europe has ever managed to lose as many KO ties when they were better.

It is happening for 30 years.
It is not a coincidence.

As if Barca only knows how to beat Real Madrid.
If we played against RM in semis, we would have won 5:2.

But if we play against Inter, Roma, Chelsea, Liverpool = we won't play with 120% and we will lose in 90% of cases inspite of being way better.

Insane
You might be right here, but as a Barca fan would you want to change this for a few titles, because I would definitely not...

Time wasting, defending, playing dirty just to reach the next stage... nope, that is just not my style...

Yes, we could have lost all these battles because our style, but there is a reason there is a style of play called "Barcelona football" and at the same time I do not recall a style called "Inter football", "Chelsea football", etc...

Our coaches, players, etc should always use the phylosophy we love and want to see and if sometimes we lose titles because of that, I would just say fu** it, at least we played our way...

Raphinha was in the counterattack with 5 teammates when Yamal decided to take the shot and expose us if we lose the ball.

So, nobody could track back.
Defense was left alone after our counterattack and lost ball.

I was going to say also, why didn't we just close out the game.

But the reality is that 9/10 that foul and push on Cubarsi gets called off of the long ball leading to the goal.

Then there is the Gerard Martin falling over and entanglement which fuck knows what happened, coz we never got a clear replay.

Neither got looked at in the VAR room after the equaliser which was suspicious as fuck.

So in the end, Inter equalised off of a routine long ball which gets called as a foul for a push on the jumping man every fookin' day.

And this is not even getting into Araujo letting 37:year old Acerbi getting the better of him for his first ever goal. And then Lamine missing a sitter in the last kick of normal time.

Not our day. Gutted. But extremely proud of the team.

And best of luck to Inter for the final. Hope they win it. Styles make fights and it was an incredible tie.

The ref did not have a good night. One of those occasions where the 50/50’s go to the home team.

I like the ref who looks like Trossard, Turpin is it? He always seems to manage the game well and makes the correct calls.

Shots 20-10. Possession 71-29.
Inter should be very thankful.

Bet players feel terrible knowing they were so close and were a better team.

We can moan about this or that but realistically, noone saw us here at the start of the season let alone being so dominant.

Feels like one of those prime Barca 2010 or 2012 exits where everyone in the world knows we were better and should be in Final.

A great compliment for this make-shift team and a manager who was also doubted by many (including me).

I thought if a foul carries into the box it is a penalty?

How was that not a penalty on Yamal?
