CL Semi Final: Inter - Barca 4-3

The two goals that cost us were set pieces. Balde and Kounde won't be making a difference if we defend set plays like that.

We will repeat the game of Copa in Atleti. Keep it tight, and leave it to the front 3 to create when space presents itself.

Provided we don't a) go behind early or b) concede simple goals from set plays then waiting for a Inter to make their moves and using it against them would be my play.

Our individual talent level is much higher, which the Lamine goal (and almost winner) of threading a needle through a haystack showed.

I'm not too worried about this match, we could head out because Inter are absolute quality and marvelously coached. But I am pretty confident inspite of the absentees and trust that going through here will carry through to getting atleast a draw versus Madrid.

We can actually draw more similarities with CL season 08/09 than with 14/15.

- Barca' home kit 08/09 is similar to the current one.
- The home leg that season had already ended in a draw and 6th of May was gonna be the decider
- That Barca also had two starters missing for the away leg (Marquez and Puyol)
- The away kit that Barca 08/09 wore was a lighter color (yellow) which is similar to the light green our players will most likely be wearing against Inter.

Such favorable details can make us fans hopeful and excited but ultimately it has little bearing on how events unfold on the pitch. But if Barca does win, we can always come back to this post. :tea:

I forgot to add:
- Hiddink's Chelsea was also physically dominant and defensively solid when needed. They were heavily reliant on Essien-Lampard akin to Çalhanoğlu-Barella for MF control.
-Both their main color is Blue. (the black part we will overlook.. lol)

Ok I will stop here lest I end up jinxin' our team.

To be honest Inter were no worse when Lautaro went off the field so him being there or not is definitely not the defining factor. Barca got to have more aerial presence than the game before it looked like man against boys on every crossing situation.
