CL Semi Final: Inter - Barca 4-3

To be honest Inter were no worse when Lautaro went off the field so him being there or not is definitely not the defining factor. Barca got to have more aerial presence than the game before it looked like man against boys on every crossing situation.
I thought they were better after Taremi came on tbh.

They were, but we were worse. Intensity dump after getting level and fatigue.

So I wouldn't really put it down to Lautaro. But it did show how they can hurt us if we lax for a minute.

Definitely not because of him. They were good inspite of him. He's crap.

I remember Dumfries screaming at him twice because Taremi couldn't play him in when Dumfries could have been through 1 on 1 with the keeper.

My feeling is that Lautaro struggles against very high lines, he lacks the burst and the stamina to force his way through them. With a lot of distance between him and the goal he struggles to show his quality, he is best when he can play in and around the box with his teammates ready to link up with him, and with his back to the goal.

Whilst, since he's Lautaro, and Taremi and Arnautovic are much worse in general, he will start if he's available, it wouldn't surprise me to see him subbed off for Arnautovic later who can possibly score a goal (he is also very good in the air like some other members of their team). Inzaghi will have noted clearly that our defense of set pieces and crosses is the weakest point and adapted accordingly.

About this - I think I read a similar post from you, but Inter show so well how simple football can kill when the defense is tired, they don't use their physicality or dribbling or star talent to punish you, they just pass and move so efficiently and creatively that you struggle to read them.

They think quickly and they are so experienced tactically.

Totally agree but so does Taremi.

Thuram is the real threat.

Lautaro didn’t do fuck all against us. He doesn’t have the speed to exploit our high line. Thuram isn’t quick either but he has the physical attributes to cause trouble.

In the end if we keep it tight at the back like we did in the Copa in Wanda, our attack should do the job.

They just keep passing to wingbacks.

Thuram is really fast but it doesn't look like it because he is big and gangly so he can lack grace.

But in terms of sprints, very fast, and also strong.

His top speed on UEFA is like 34kmh, and average sprint speed is like 32 point something.

San Siro pitch is poor, which puts team like us that rely on technique at a disadvantage…Inter’s danger from crosses (2 corners, 2 goals), so tsctical adjustments are needed… injuries… who plays and who doesnt… will Lautaro play… and so on… yes, we need to take these factors into account but we shouldnt let them influence us and, basically, FUCK OFF: these games are won with brass balls, killer mindset, i want 11 gladiators on the pitch and if we add our talent to that, we will make it!
