What a thrilling game.

Overall, I think we deserved to win, Inters goals were against the run of play it felt like. They absolutely dominated us physically though, every single cross, corner, header was won by them and you felt they would score with every cross. Haven't seen us get bullied like that physically in a while.

For the second goal, I think if Pedri goes for it with bis head the referee gives a free kick, but not going to blame him there, was instinctual. (Gavi would have gone for it 100% lol).

Lamine with a great game. Thought FdJ didn't give us enough offensively or defensively , he wasn't terrible but don't think he gives us enough on either end of the pitch on these kind of games.

Great spirit from the team to come back each time. We can definitely win there but I reckon it's 51-49 to inter due to this high pressure game being away from home and also, I don't see how we solve the physical dominance in a week. Very likely to happen again next week.

If we do go out, I'm sure it will be fighting. Which is more than we can say for us in the last ten years, with humiliation after humiliation.
Best analisys for tonight's game!

Spot on the physicality part. Those motherfuckers are all either big or pumped up on muscles.

Conceding 3 goals in consecutive games is no opposition luck, it's a pattern of Flick aggressive tactics. The belief we can outscore the opponent.

Kounde getting the injury is the worst part of the first leg. Not the 3-3 draw. Now we have to adjust to a Eric - Araujo - Cubarsi - Inigo lineup. Doesn't look bad on paper, but we have no wingbacks for the most important phase of the season.

Thuram looks cooked for counters. No speed. Lautaro out. We should be fairly comfortable attacking next week, as long as we keep player on Dumfries all the time. That will eliminate them imo.

I think our biggest mistake was not taking Dumfries out of the game.

Put two guys on Dumfries and they will create nothing.

DiMarco is too busy with Yamal. Literally there's no offense other than Dumfries.

QUIZZ:
Inter fans would protest this 'toenail' offside, and rightfully so. You would do the same if this was called against Barca.

But look closely: is there something in the frame that makes you think this deserves to be called offside, disregarding the toenail?

When you answer this, you would have the answer as to how the offside law should change

Yeah, but Lautaro looks out. No chance he makes it in 6 days. Biggest injury of the night. If the team puts on a decent match in defense, should get through here.

They will be in a pressure cooker by Barca and as long as we hold Dumfries I don't think they will create much. They are relying on one player.

Other than occasional free kick/corner which can be dangerous

But Barca can't park the bus against Inter. We need to keep pressuring them. They are superior in the box.

No, it's not, really. Nothing in the system prevents you from defending set pieces properly. It's just shite defending, pure and simple.
I was talking about our defending during the game, set pieces are a different thing. Inter players are physically superior, tallest player for us today was Martin and Inter has like 4-5 players taller than him. Still of course we need to find a way to somehow at least decrease their chances on set pieces, with some tactic or whatever but it will be hard.

A keeper that goes out on crosses and doesn't change his mind midway might help. Also if somebody doesn't get scared to attack the ball because he might get hit also helps in set pieces.

Set pieces are also about being firm and strong. Not soft or scared.

Protest all you like but why wasnt the second goal ruled out as a high kick? If Pedri actually had committed his head to the ball and ended up in the hospital as a result, had it still been a goal?

No. If he is kicked it's freekick and probably a card if he gets hit.
