Stop dreaming lad. It didn't matter to us maybe. To them it did as it brought calmness when they needed it.

Also, we had some chances but no personnel to do the job. Messi scoring that penalty doesn't mean we would suddenly turn Dembele into Roben and Griezmann into R9

yes but it would add more confidence for Messi. He could easily bag a third if scored the pen and then some random (own) goal could happen. Bit of a pointless discussion, we can't know what could have happened.

It was between Blanc Emery and Tuchel.

Of course, we lost here and there (against Madrid for example in 2017/2018) but it wasn't exactly an easy task. Nowadays, anyone can come and outplay us and beat us.

PSG has only 4/5 good players which makes only a third of a team. And among them, you have Verratti and Neymar who are always out for a reason or another. Only reliable one is Navas who is there when we need him and is without a doubt the most decisive and consistent player of PSG. He is our best goalkeeper ever even before Lama and Bats.

It this game was played with Areola/Trapp/Buffon/Sirigu, it would have been another comeback for you guys. You would have scored 4 already in the first half.

I see...
IMO PSG was really good under Blanc. Good football, and unfairly eliminated by Mou's Chelsea, and the next year stumbled upon one of the best Barca under Lucho with MSN.
Under Emery, you bought into the hype a bit too much it seems with Mpabe and Neymar transfers

Whole game changes if that pen goes in.

PSG were second best but never panicking and could pack defence and slow game down knowing Barca needed three.

If it is 2-1 PSG are starting to second guess how to approach second half and pressure of humiliation is there.

If psg invested those 220mil wisely, in a much better market than the current one, they would have had a much better team.

And then Lenglet causes another pen or gets 2nd yellow...

The problem is PSG didn't foresee that FFP would suddenly invalidate previously agreed contracts.

In their mind, they could buy Neymar and Mbapp? plus some good players around them. They were close to sign Fabinho the same summer. However, what happened is they had to sell players to afford these 2 purchases. This is why there are a lot of mediocre players in that team.

Without Covid and if Neymar and Mbapp? were to agree on a renewal, PSG would have fully amortized their transfers and could finally improve the team. Sadly, it is not the case.

Renewing them wouldnt full amortize the transfers and likely be higher salaries for both but would free up some FFP.

Of course, it was a way of quickly make the point. At that magnitude, we could almost say it is fully amortized. Neymar transfer, for example, cost us 44,4 millions a year. If he renews till 2026 as teased, we would only have to pay 9 millions a year. Almost negligeable at this point. Also, Neymar is supposed not to be raised.

This alone is fresh 35 M saved in a year. It is roughly a 125 M transfer over 5 year and 10 M gross salary.

we were better than PSG. they had a BULLSHIT pen; the commentators on the match were both like wtf how in the world is that a penalty.

if we had played in the first leg how we played in the second we'd be through

it also doesnt help that
1) lenglet is absolute SHIT
and
2) Dembele has god AWFUL TERRIBLE abysmal finishing

also
its not clear to me that Griezmann adds anything to us. anything at all. Pedri and Trincao both look more dangerous/likelier to make something happen

in other words

sell the frencies

I know just one thing...Get rid of few "stars" and make this team GREAT again in year or two. Sooo pissed at "so-called" coach, ignorant and blind never guilty of anything, who still regularly plays Busquets, Dembele and Griezmann, the biggest flops and fakes in present Barca...Busquets...OMG...That one is something, I don't even know how to call him. Maybe con-artist, the biggest cheater in football history, the "player" who is only interested to pass the ball to nearest one to him. No creativity, no vision, no trying to feed ball to anybody forward with some "long passes"...ever...for years and years. And still there, in every fucking game. Sell the retard, you retards "in charge". Dembele...no words. Whatever to be said, is not enough to describe hundreds, millions lost balls, wrong passes and misses. And still there too. WHY??? Not enough? Still need time to settle down and adapt? For how many more years? And same, apsolutely all same goes for Griezmann. FLOP. FLOP. FLOP. Barca in dept? Just hopping and praying that Laporta has vision again and balls again to do right thing and sell. Sell a lot. Enough is enough, no more time to wait for anybody who wasted any chance given to them so many times. So sick of those faces who taking places of somebody who would cost ten times less but can give ten times more. Umtiti, what use of him anymore, for so long already? And cost arm and leg every month. Lenglet? Guy who makes so many stupid and costly mistakes every while? Even if not, we all just waiting when the next one will be. You know what? Just sell all Frenchmen + Busquets and give a chance to Puiq and all those youngsters, add Pjanic as regular and watch...If those two have been given only third of time that Koeman gave to Dembele and Griezman...Man! I'm just do tired of so many wrongs in team that I love 'till the end of life and end of world. That's why it hurts so much.

yeah, and then some alien ship comes over paris and kidnaps navas. stop it with the ifs and buts.

we fucked up badly in the first leg, just as we did when we did that 6-1 remontada. no serious team loses like that and expects to turn it around. that 6-1 was just an anomaly.

and yes, psg played the game on their own terms as long as they did not implode in the first half. so having that 3 goals cushion definitely influenced the way they played, even though at times we thought they panicked.

If Messi hadn't scored, we would have lost 1-0.

We lost the qualification at home
