Complete nonsense.

Pedri benefits from this system more than anyone.

As do the likes of Fermin/Olmo etc... much more so than FDJ as those two cant play in a midfield three really.

FDJ is playing in a positon that is not most suited to.

A 433 depends on how played. With Xavi it was often all too much positional cones waiting for ball and he needs more freedom than that.

Xavi didn't really play a classic 433, many times it was similar to Flick's setup just more rigid. Pedri is class either in double pivot or in 433, the problem is not him or FDJ but the third midfilder, either it's a 10 or a DM, we don't have either.

Xavi did play 433 before he changed it.

Biggest gripe was how he set up that midfield three as positional cones too often.

I agree on the issue being third midfielder.

Been better off with a DM last night and Pedri/FDJ pressing up on their midfielder.

Or Pedri/FDJ deeper a bit and a player tighter to Vitinha... could they tell Gavi to man mark him.. maybe.

The fullbacks still make all that very difficult. Need to look at them and even man marking them near enough.

Time to revisit the Koeman 3421 formation vs this lot.

Man Mark their full backs and front three as much as can. Dumping the offside line.

Get Pedri/FDJ deeper two and Gavi/Fermin attacking two to press like animals.

Lone striker? Yamal. Played in youth and by gosh he can do it again.

That formation dominated PSG in Paris. Different players on both sides but still it did.

Xavi played 4222 in his last two seasons and 433 in the first.

If we play a 433, we need a player who can play single pivot every few of those around, and de jong maybe able to play CM now In that system has he's matured, but he's never played well for us in a 433.

Wether it is at DM and CM

With koeman it was a different system, under Xavi he started playing well in the 4222 and with flick it's 4231
