Good that Qarabag drew Monaco

Will be hard but maybe not impossible. Monaco is shit atm. If they win there's a chance we get them. Would be basically free ticket to QF

PSG with a tough opponent. They are not in best shape right now either. Not much hope in Newcastle but maybe they can do something

A lot of interesting knockout matchups but it makes it a very difficult path for Barça, regardless

Now, these are the possible opponents going forward (February 27 drawing):
  • PSG/Newcastle (Round of 16)
  • Liverpool/Juventus/Atleti (Quarter-finals)
  • Arsenal/Man City (Semi-finals)

Brutal path, statistically with the most difficult road to lift trophy. Arsenal & Bayern with the easiest of top 8, and all of the English sides in top 8 have easier path

Simply a statistical anomaly due to the way the tournament is programmed. 5th of top 8 is not a weighted seeding per se rather than a position in the draw - just so happens to be the statistically worst position. This is true, every time you run the simulation

Spot 5 & 6 are statistically the worst of top 8 to advance and only benefit less than 1M in terms of UEFA money for not finishing 7th or 8th

Very strange, I have to believe UEFA will address this with the top 8 money considering it is more focused on the final table & results…Or simply reorganize the draw to put 7th and 8th where 5th & 6th currently are

Benfica - RM again lol

I was 100% sure they are gonna get Benfica again after what happened...
Instant karma!

I see Brugges kicking out Pathetico, and Inter having hard time to eliminate Bodo

Many haven't realized that the draw today did not just decide the play-off round, as seen in the pic Andresito posted

It also decided part of the bracket.
As you see, one side of the bracket features PSG, Juve, Madrid, BvB, while the other has Newcastle, Atleti/Brugges, Inter, Leverkusen

We don't know yet which side each big boy will slot in, but as you can already see, the lower side looks already easier.

It's imperative we draw Newcastle

Good thing Vardrid got Benfica again.

1st - Its Mou's team, he wont let them be a pussy.
2nd - Having already beaten them earlier, they wont start the game on the backfoot. Which is mostly the case with all these EU teams when they play Vardrid in the knockout stages, they give far too much respect, and then they get fucked. Which hopefully wont be the case here.

I have a good feeling about this.

I don't see it being an easier path TBH.

Let just say the bigger team wins in the playoff.
So a 7 & 8 spot team will either face Real or Inter in the R16, they hardly are an easier tean to beat.
And Arsenal or Bayern in the Quarters.

Now, us will either get PSG or Newcastle in the R16.
And then Liverpool or Tottenham in the Quarters.

Honestly, I am very happy with our Quarters matchup this year.
Facing Arsenal or Bayern at the quarters would be a sure fire loss at this moment.
