Invincibles should have won the CL.

Got knocked out by bloody John Carew.

Valencia then stuffed Bayern in the final, only to lose on penalties because half way through the shootout Canizares forgot how to try and stop penalties.

It's in their DNA to fook it up.

You can quote this post when Arsenal win the treble now

Fair point. I rate Rice, Saka, eze is good. Odegaard is injured a lot now and has lost form.

Guys like Trossard, Merino, Zubimendi, Martinelli really aren't top class quality. They range from average to fairly good. But you wouldn't expect them to hang with the top teams in the final phases of the CL.

They have solid individual players(I don't know that anyone in their midfield or attack is world class) but as a collective their attack and midfield are far off competing with the best in the world.

Yeah agree. Part of that is how Arteta sets them up too.

With them, it isn't even about their quality, whether it is good or bad.

it's two things in my opinion:

1) I don't think Arterta is a good coach;

2) they haven't won the CL ever or PL since 2004, and I see them bottling it every time. But I guess eventually they have to break their duck.

They're not though, are they?

There was barely anything in the two games you played last season in the CL and they've since added the likes of Eze and Zubamendi among others.

Their attack and midfield are mid. Making them mid overall relative to the best teams in the world.

Can they claim a single world class player in midfield or attack? Is their midfield collective, or their attacking collective, competing with the world's best?

In 90th minute at 4-0, every Arsenal player ran like it was 1st minute.

That is very hard to digest when you see Barca's players so complacent, so tired, so out of form and so shit for so long now...

That's coz, tonight, October 21st 2025. Arsenal fans and Arsenal football club themselves are celebrating this like they won the tournament.

People maybe think that I am going on too much about Arsenal, but past prestige and winning mentality is huge in football. it's like a multiplier and comfort blanket.

City have that in the league, Arsenal do not.

it's like how Ecuador are a better team than Brazil right now, but you'd still expect Brazil to have more chance of winning the World Cup, because they're a traditional superpower and Ecuador are not.

That sort of psychology is huge in football. It's normally the big powers who win stuff.

Depends on how a person defines world class. Saka, Rice and a fit Odegaard are among the best players in their positions, so I would say they are world-class.

Jair is true in that Arsenal has no truly spectacular footballers. But that is not what they need, if the team works together and everyone gives their best. We have Pedri and Yamal, no Arsenal player is 10℅ of their ability, yet atm Arsenal would probably beat the fuck out of us. Their quality is evenly distributed. They have eleven very good footballers. We have 2 unbelievable footballers, a couple very good and some horrendous footballers.

That can definitely win them the EPL because they don't play very good football, but the UCL? I don't see it.

Indeed, it's about the sum of the parts, not the individuals.

But the problem Arsenal have is their propensity to falter when it matters most, as a club.
