Feels like it. Rosenborg were constant feature in the 90's CL in a much more competitive era.

The thing about Bodø-Glimt is that they have not had rich investors or fans that have poured their own wealth into the club.

They have built this themselves with a sustainable business model and outstanding coaching and scouting.

It's different to Rosenborg who had some generational Norwegian players + a generational coach back then, and were the richest club in the country too.

Although just being rich doesn't always help as Molde have been backed by billionaires and never done anything special in Europe, at least compared to this.

This Jens Hauge guy has been impressive..
This whole Bodo team is absolute ballers all around tbh

Kinda like Ajax 2019 side like serghei mentioned. I expect these guys in a few years will be at top clubs, a lot of them. We'll see how many make it. Hauge flopped at Milan but he looks a serious baller now

Nah.
Even if you think it was overall more competitive, The current era is far more stacked against teams from smaller leagues. The gap is far bigger than the 90's when the effect of Bosman was still eaely and fresh.

In the same year, Ajax, Porto & Auxerre where also in QF while BVB won the whole thing.

I agree with @DonAK , this is a better team against tougher odds.
