Their form went down as season progressed. Even got sent home from FA Cup by a lower division team. Couldn't beat United at home... lucky even not to lose... bad games started to pile up for Liverpool.

Yeah, but I also told Temptation when he was on a high horse after beating Madrid in the group that I'm still not fully convinced by Liverpool because they didn't play a very strong team so far. So not really surprised they got knocked out when they faced one.
