Camp Nou

I suppose there is a chance that third tier and VIP areas could be finished until summer. However, roof is still far away. It will take more than 4 years to finish the entire stadium and that's just waaaaay to much time.

Yeah, I know. The return is temporary until early 2026/27 if everything goes according to plan.

I can't find the info currently, but in Champions League we are obliged by UEFA rules to play at Montjuic until February, right?
No I believe they have made an exception. Not that many games either way.

Club officials set the final completion date for December 2027. Even if third tier and VIP are finished by summer of 2026, I expect the roof to take another year and Camp Nou closed due to safety measures during the period.

I think the exception was in case Camp Nou got the local license to host by late August before the group stages. Obviously the club missed the deadline. I found this:

A stadium under renovation or incomplete construction cannot be approved unless the licensor confirms in writing that all safety standards and spectator areas are fully operational.
Camp Nou needs inspection by UEFA for category 4 stadium first of all. Then the club has to take into account which stadium is more profitable - loaning Montjuic with 45k capacity or Camp Nou with 27k. And that rule I read somewhere this summer stating a club cannot switch stadiums until the group stage is over, which I can't verify.

IMO Laporta will not push for Camp Nou in CL until Phase B is given green light - 45k capacity.

Yeah I think returning to a complete CN will happen sometime in the 27/28 season. And that's optimistic.

Hector showed the progress been made in 11 months, today in comparison the last January. They basically finished the first floor, added two more and also finished the entire space in front of the tribuna all in this period.

No. 4 years to complete the whole rebuild of the stadium.
That's not a lot at all for a stadium this big imo. That also has an extensive surrounding space being changed totally with multiple levels of parking around it and multiple stores and cafe and other buildings.

Wanda took 5 years and it's considerably smaller. There was also demolition of old structures, clearing the debris. Simply a lot of work to do. We don't have a similar stadium in Europe to compare. This is not like most projects, where you have a 60k-ish stadium built on some new lot from scratch. Like Emirates or new Tottenham stadium.

Just looked online and neither Emirates nor Tottenham stadiums have underground parking for general fans. So what are we even comparing it to? Stadiums 60-70% smaller in capacity with not even half the on-site amenities of Camp Nou?

Would someone explain why root will be installed in 2027 ? I so no reason for this huge delay. Best course in my opinion would be to play this whole season at monguic and finish everything this 2026. What's the purpose of coming back to camp nou if t means halting again for 5 months later? Isn't that redundant ?

This is only half of the story.. in this year they erected all big diamonds and practically finished he multi-storey underground parking lot. People who are not following construction only observe what happened to the stadium alone.
