Camp Nou

Barça has received approval from the City Council for a modified license allowing the Camp Nou to open by zones, without needing full completion of both tiers. The club is now waiting for all construction parties, including Torrella and Limak, to formally sign off. Works must be completed within about two weeks so the club can submit the Certificate of Completion and notify the City Council, La Liga, and UEFA of its intent to return to Camp Nou at the start of competitions.

Laporta will probably personally oversee the next two weeks with a whip in his hands :whip:

Ok. So we asume the 60k will be hit until CL knockouts I hope. Then we have until summer 2027 to finish off the entire thing except the roof, and this leaves us with early 2028 as fully finished with roof. Less than 5 years for the entire project. Not bad at all.

Roof, due to its immense circumference, will require a full 6 months to install. So June 2027 until January or February 2028.

There's no way we are ready to put the roof in 10 months as they initially hoped.

The plan is to be finished with everything by autumn/fall 2026 apart from the roof. So let's say 14 months from now.

Would that be possible? If yes then the roof won't drag on until 2028.

They will choose to install it in the preseson anyway. Use those 3 months of no football. So it's either june 2026, or june 2027. 2027 sounds much more likely to me.

Getting back with 27k capacity even, would be great.

Playing home games in CN generates an added 40-50m per annum based on our last season there, purely from added sales of being inside the sports city.

Then you lose the 15-20m rental fee of Montjuic.

We will probably generate more over the season even at that capacity.

The only downer is the ticket prices which would blow the roof off- if we had one.

This is very good news if true, if the City Council really changed their minds and will allow partial opening we are much closer to returning than I thought.

Its not that the City Council changed its mind, its more like we used "levers" to get a solution.

All thanks to Fatporta and his ingenuity.

They are late and at smaller capacity than said so news are not good. And they lied.

Someone promises you a Ferrari but delivers a Toyota. You accept because you are used to being told lies.

Installing the roof at the Camp Nou requires another six months of work without any fans.

The club plan to start installing it in the summer of 2026, so starting the 2026/2027 season in Montjuïc is not ruled out.

No chance everything except the roof is finished in less than a year.

That a more realistic timeline, I agree. It looks like we'll play most of 25/26, 26/27 in reduced capacity on CN, 27/28 in Montjuic and 28/29 finally in a completed CN. Still a long way to go.
