Camp Nou

China could get that interior work done in a day.

We should have built the stadium over there and shipped it over.

I did read this before I said we should be back by Sept, but sport saying is this article hand over for this phase of construction is set for September 16th..

Realistic base on the progress we've seen I think

More than 3,500 workers are currently working on site, which are being carried out under the agreement with the Barcelona City Council, valid until April 30. This allows for an intensive workday from Monday at 8 a.m. to Friday at 11:59 p.m., in addition to reduced hours on Saturdays. A race against the clock that seeks to return to Camp Nou as soon as possible.

Two factors at work ahead of meeting that September 16th target
  1. Pitch - It is getting laid this week and latest video from Ferran Barniol ((YT) shows the seating is largely finished with 5 months to complete or advance the outstanding interior work that de-prioritized during first phase of construction to get to that 60k of seats
  2. 1:1 & FFP: We will see if Limak, as the board wants, has the VIP boxes ready before June 30 (2 months to advance the VIP seating that Liga claimed couldn't be counted since they didn't exist) when the financial year ends and, thus, ensure that the auditing company, either Crowe or a new one if the club decides to go for that option, as well as La Liga, count as profit the revenue, both the 58M already entered into the club's accounts and the remaining 42M of the total 100M agreed with Forta Advisors Limited and New Era Visionary Group for the VIP seats. This latter point heavily impacts summer sporting plans in the market as well obviously

 Vip boxes in 2 months when they don't even have the metal pillars done so far. They have to complete the steel structure, then cover the main pillars in concrete, and only after that is finished they will start the interior work. Camp Nou partial reopening plans did not include VIP boxes, but only 1st and 2nd tiers. VIP ring x 2, 3rd tier, and roof probably 2026-2028.

We will probably play 1 season with limited comfort and 2 tiers at 55-60k capacity. If we can get the permits. Should probably extend Montjuic for another season, would allow us to work faster and come back wheh the stadium looks ready.

5 years is probably a reasonable time frame for the stadium to be fully built. 2023-2028. My guess is we are nearly half there.

The focus now will be to finish the outer works (diamond buildings) to allow fans to approach the stadium, open the new store so they can demolish the old one and open the main entrance to the Nou Camp Nou and finish the interior of the old two stands, so the safety commission greenlights the opening.
Technically the floor of the first VIP ring is finished, but there is still much to do before Barca can open even the first ring to the public.

Hope they reserved Montjuic for the whole next season, no chance we'll play in Camp Nou in 2025.

And I don't think Tebas will be satisfied if we just build VIP boxes before summer (we won't), I think he'll count that VIP boxes only if they and functioning and that's obviously impossible before the summer.

Laporta will lie that we'll return soon and than postpone it every few months like he's doing since November and it'll continue for at least another year. He knows very well that the return is not near even if he lies in public. I just don't get why some of you belive him.

Recent works look optimistic and as I said late 2025 limited reopening is possible. But what was promised for February 2025 was insane, more of a PR campaign for sponsorship reasons.

Anyway even in this state with no pitch and cranes, the stadium looks beautiful.

With two tiers finished the capacity looks 40 000 or?

Would be quite terrible if Deco is unable to patch up the obvious holes in the squad this summer either because the VIP boxes audit is rejected once again.

FB + LW is a must to provide some quality depth so the squad is able to survive a long, grueling season. Competition won't standstill.

Then in 2026 a striker very likely becomes the absolute top priority.

Supposed to be 60k without the VIP rings which do not need to be completed by June 30th but should be well advanced vs nothing but empty air below

They've put plastic on a lot of the seats and the daily webcam has been down for awhile so I suspect the club is waiting before they restart it to lay the grass during/after that process

Could be with VIP boxes. Compared to San Siro's first two tiers (similar design) that hold about 50-55k seats.

Laporta is used to lying. Lawyers and politicians are like that. And he's both.

I do commend his skills in keeping positive air about club's reputation.

Don't think so. Our stadium is wider, and the 2nd tier is pretty massive. Besides, don't see how we go from 60k to 105k with only 3rd tier.

Makes sense for first 2 tiers to be 60k and vip rings and 3rd tier another 45k. VIP seats must be in the ballpark of 5-7k, not more.

If I have to guess, I think 1st tier is roughly 20k, 2nd tier is 40k, vip is 5-7k, and 3rd tier another 35k or so, fewer rows and much smaller height vs 2nd tier, but biggest perimeter by far.

Interior webcam remains ‘down‘ which suggests with concurrent timing of pitch installation that club likely intends to prepare for a reveal video in the coming weeks to either take some pressure off the players in media or generate more enthusiasm in the business end of the season

Reminder of how the old pitch was laid
