Craig Bellamy as Bayern's assistant manager is even more spectacular.

Kompany was earmarked by Pep as his potential City replacement.

It's a big step up, but this isn't some chuckle brother signing out of left field.

It definitely is out of left field, no one sah this coming, kompany hasn't showed anything special to be rewarded with such a job.

They're just hoping they get lucky like BL did with Xabi and also regretting they fired nag.

Well yeah, but they are down to their 7/8 option or so. Maybe they could have pivoted to Poch or taken De Zerbi.

Im just saying that it may be early into his career, but it's a high potential pick.

Wouldn't want him at Barca for example, but if our top 7/8 or so picks all rejected us (Flick, Motta, Klopp, Michael etc) then I may consider it.

Kompany has a 40% win percentage for Burnley in 100 games.

He's a C tier manager and worse than Xavi.

But of course, the usual suspects think otherwise

Difficult to know with Kompany to be honest, was obviously seen as a very intelligent player and of course could be another Pep disciple. Rijkaard got relegated with Sparta Rotterdam and then won the double with Barca a few years later. Klopp got relegated at Mainz before going to Dortmund. Tough to keep these smaller clubs afloat in the top league.

Kompany obviously had Burnley firing in the Championship but tried to play to expansive against better teams in the Prem and they were easy to score against. But he does have a massive swede, so surely there is plenty of room for tactics and formations in there somewhere.

The idiot strikes again

Give this Burnley squad to Xavi and he gives you not even 10% win percentage in 200 games

What in the actual fuck are Bayern doing  I always thought they were a well run club but this is bonkers. Kompany just got Burnley relegated this very season and then ends up at one of the worlds biggest clubs, HUH? Apparently they will have to pay £17mil in compensation to Burnley also
