Best CB of the last Decade?

I know ive been making alot of these polls, but i keep having similar arguments with a guy at work...

Nah, the 1990's and just beyond 2000 was Maldini's time and obviously to continue for as long as he did was miraculous, but at a sub-standard level compared to his former capabilities.

I'm really not sure, but based on achievement and pure awesomness in more ways than one, it's got to be Puyol. His defensive ability has matched everyone on that list at some point in his career and he has coped well with losing the little bit of power from his youth.

He's won everything there is and been the main defender in all the teams. He's a big game player aswell and plays RB and LB as good as CB.
