Hugo Balassone claiming Julian Alvarez to Barça is as good as done (around 70M)

From what I've read, and things could be lost in translation, that this is what Alvarez wants and it seems both him and the club have an understanding.
But the 70M figure is suggestion from Balassone himself, that Barca will need to negotiate with Atletico and it would take around that figure.

And Achraf Ben Ayad just underscored that agreement between Barça and player is crucial up front. I too find the 70M suspect, especially when it comes to Atletico or Alemany

Not sure cheaper. Better overall no. Neither are worth more than 60-70m, so the price if it's at 70m max can be worth it. They can just put in some Ballon d'Or bonuses or CL winning bonuses for all I care if it makes the deal. Wouldn't be too upset to pay 10-15m more if we win a CL with Alvarez or Osimhen leading the line.

Based on what we can get, we need to identify if we want a combinative 9 that can bring more in combinations, or a target man to wrestle with defenders and be a physical threat in the box and for crosses, you won't get both at the same time no matter who you sign, except Kane for 2-3 seasons.

It is not question if they are worth, thing is you can currently get 2 or 3 players on ST position and best what we can get for 70mil is player like Osimhen, Guirassy (around 50), Harry Kane (if he does not extends contract), and that is basicly all.

Based on what? In this striker market 60-70M gets you someone not proven (or actually good) like Gyökeres or Sesko.

Hell, Barca could get such a number for Torres.

And while Osimen won't be cheap, he is definitely going to cost less than Alvarez

That's kind of my pont. No chance they sell him under what they paid. And we are not in a position to spend 100m for a striker knowing our defense needs at least the same amount of money to improve.
