Possible.

But he is the typical Spanish winger that lacks speed. The ones that made Lucho suffer during his NT tenure before the emergence of Nico and Lamine.

Exacto. Winger today without speed is kinda death sentence, even if you have skill. Look at Sancho. They can survive at some level with the skills, but when physical skills are needed too their level dips a lot.

Of course Sancho probably lacks work rate too.

Speed is the number one thing you must have as a winger and LB and RB imo. It's the key for these positions. Especially if you play very offensive football and have to cover a lot of ground.

Why does everyone think lamine is fast? Top speed 33,3 km/h compared to nico 35,8

Ferran torres f.e has top speed of 36 km/h but He is one of those wingers that you call too slow and under Lucho he even played on the wing I think.

Top speed of jesus Rodriguez should be 33,9 km/h if this twitter source is reliable.

The most important thing is to dribble with speed but for that you don‘t have to be a speed monster like lamine yamal or messi in the age of 30+

Mbappe f.e. Is the fastest but if it goes to 1v1 he is not fast anymore

I see that my post implies that Lamine is fast, but I didn't mean to.

However, I didn't claim that he is slow in his top speed, that's how you mistakenly interpreted it. Speed here is in terms of explosiveness and ability to beat your man with the first step, which is far more important unless it is in terms of it counter attacks. Jesus lacks that.

Speed for a winger is an important physical trait, but I won't call it a death sentence as @FinBarcelonafan did.

However, it is one of those physical traits that make it difficult to overcome at the very top. It usually requires some elite or out of the world talent to overcome for a position like the winger.

It is a bit like height, people can always point out to Maradona, Carlos, maybe even Messi but those had insane amount of talent. It is far more likely to end up like Giovinco than Alexis Sanchez if you are below 1.7m

Lamine has elite talents in dribbling, creating for others and himself. He has unique ability to decelerate or accelerate whenever he wants, ability to change directions, ability to shoot from tightest places. Jesus doesn't show that tbh. I think he is more suited to slower pace La Liga and unlikely for the top 2 sides.

Bingo, take a bow Khaled

I hear pacy all the time with him but this is what distinguishes him from a pace merchant like Mbappé or CR, he does not rely on one trait to take advantage of his marker or position on the pitch - that is unique and only something the legends of the game have had

His change of direction alone is superlative but the Iniesta way in being able to manipulate the tempo of a tightly marked situation to his attacking advantage. You can’t teach it and you can’t defend it

Plus, he’s not slow

How many steps are needed for Nico?

So I'm guessing the situation you were telling us about, doesn't apply to Barca? or is tebas being tebas again.

I was looking forward to that rule change making things easier for us.

Tebas has maintained from day 1 week need to see a big name player, I don't think he/ la Liga will give us any grace until we do that.

I don't know if the rule changes has been approved or not tbh. Maybe from next year.

However, there is also the fact that several existing contracts has to be registered too, and we only has exception for 3 spots for one year.

So, Tebas might claim Lewa, Inigo and soon Tek, will have to be registered again, or he is projecting a win in the Olmo/Pau case, and the club will again have to register those.

There is a feeling that the club may sell one of:

1. Araujo
2. Fermin

to buy Nico. Araujo is the number one candidate, if this option does not work, it is quite possible that they will try to sell Fermin. It will be a disaster.
