Deco: “Backup for Lewandowski? In the squad we have players capable of playing there like Ferran, who has had a spectacular season, Olmo, as a false '9', Fermín... This squad has internal solutions when Lewy is not there.” “Inter has a pure striker like Thuram, PSG doesn't have one, Arsenal doesn't have one either... We don't have to obsess over finding a '9', today we have one and many solutions."

This is a statement I absolutely agree with

So 40 year old tractor starting for us again while Real Madrid regenerate

This club doesn’t know how to move players until it’s too late

Gut instinct but I think Diaz would be more happy to sit on a bench and come in as a substitute. Lookman wants to take even every penalty himself while sucking at them. (Atalanta coaches words not mine :D)

So I am not so sure he would be happy to sit on bench. Diaz seems easier to handle from that perspective but maybe I am completely wrong.
You are compeletely wrong.

Lookman did not want to take the penalty until the team's designated penalty taker signalled to him to go take it. Even if he missed it, it showed someone willing to stand up for it when all others chickened out. Messi did chicken out of a penalty vs PSG in the 6-1 remontada.

Echoing the words of a racist coach who later admitted he was emotional and and not in proper frame of mind to have made those comments is not only wrong, it is also too myopic to evaluate a player's preferences/prowess on such.

Makes sense that Deco doesn’t want to say anything since it just puts them in a worse negotiating position and might piss off other clubs. He said he still has to finalize the plans with Flick before deciding on signings.

But why even agree to an interview if you’re going to say nothing

The only interesting part I guess was that he said they need to find a new GK within the next 1-2 years because of the ages of Tek and ter Stegen.

"When people talk about signings, they think about those coming from abroad, but you have to see that renewals are also like signings. "
"The lucky thing is that we have a team that doesn't require so many headaches for us for next season. First, we want to fix what we have at home, and then, if we can improve the team, we will. And what I've said is perhaps a striker with a different profile than what we have."

Deco: celebrating renewals like signings since 2025.

Imagine the rush he gets when he looks down the Barcelona contracts and thinks to himself "who am I going to sign this season?"

...

Deco after renewing Inigo.

Now being reported that if we go for Luis Diaz then Deco doesn't want to pay more than what he paid for Olmo with add-ons included.

So 60m with add-ons included is the highest he would go to.

Luckily for us I don't see Liverpool selling him for that.

It's the opposite, though. The whole situation happened because the designated penalty taker at that time signaled Lookman to take it. Whether it was because Lookman was having a good game or that guy was chicken shit, I don't know.
But the manager straight up threw Lookman to the coals to save his face. And the guy hasnt said anything since. Quitely kept working.
I like that.

I also think, because of this reason alone, we can have him for cheap. He wouldnt want to continue with this manager.
I might be wrong, but its a possibility that both parties would like to part ways and could be done for cheap.
