IMHO, Mbappe is not as good as Dembélé. He is very fast going forward, but he has not faced top notch defenses. In contrast, Ousmane Dembélé is very fast, he has an excellent burst of speed (pique,) and has excellent dribbling abilities. He can go forward, stop and go back, or go to either side, if he wants to. In other words, he is excellent at stop-and-go. In addition, he plays in Germany and not France. The defenders and defenses in Germany are so much better.
Ousmane Dembélé is a very good signing and I believe he is the closest player we can get to Neymar. The other one is Coutinho. We need to replace Neymar, now, and Iniesta next year.
Another pressing need is to get an area offensive player that is a "9." A player with height for headers and that has the ability to push the ball in the net. Alcácer is a major disappointment and contributes nothing to Barça.
I'm waiting for the signing of Ousmane Dembélé to be made official. Until then...?

Mbappe is a better finisher but Dembeles overall game is better. His dribbling, passing and overall awareness are better but he's also two years older.

I do not know about that. He might be a better finisher in France. Will he be able to do the same thing in La Liga? I doubt it. What I've seen, the French defenders tend to accompany the offensive player. In La Liga, you better make up your mind shooting, very fast. Otherwise, you'll find lots of legs blocking your shot. As I said, Dembélé plays in Germany and not in France. It is very hard to make an accurate assessment of a player playing against weaker defenses. He might look good until confronted with higher quality defenders. I believe that is the case with Mbappe.
PS: I forgot to say the following. I agree with you regarding his awareness of the game. His awareness or vision for the game is excellent, very unusual for a young player. Man, at 20 I was a jerk. I'm very happy with this signing. However, we should have gotten him last year for €15M together with Asensio for €4.5M

I would like us to go for him next summer. Probably won't cost as much. He might be tempted as if he joins we will have a core group of French starters/future which might also be beneficial for him and probably the only advantage over Madrid.

He won't cost as much? Rumours are 150-180M already. And i don't think Barcelona has an advantage over RM or PSG. PSG is willing to pay him a huge salary and he grew up around Paris.
We tried. Many clubs did . He choose Dortmund because he could play all the time there. Here he would be a sub for MSN..and you know what that means.

None of them are leaving. Barca are too preoccupied with Dembele and Coutinho sagas. Hopefully next year we sell the deadweight with new board at helm.
