We already know Laporta is not perfect. But Victor Font is zero charisma. He cannot sell a pen.

Ironically one of the factors that saved Laporta was firing Xavi and bringing in Flick.

Who hails them? It's pretty normal for current players to vote for Laporta. He's charismatic and acts like one of them. Ever seen Florentino Perez jump around with Real Madrid players?

See it all over twitter.

An absolute circus at the polls. Levels of sleazy politician kissing babies.

And noone really cares about Font either. It's not black and white.

People are shitting on Barca legends like Xavi or Koeman. What's next? Messi?

Laporta can fuck up anything of relevance of running the club while his golden goose Flick delivers.

This election makes me think, when was the last time the incumbent president entered election and lost? I know Bartou and Laporta both entered and won, Nunez before them too stood for too long.

I looked into some of former presidents and it doesn't seem it happened in the last 60 year at least. If you survive your term, socios will take you back.

Obviously, today could change that

Xavi is not some "ex". And I assure you he will remain very much relevant as Barca legend long after Laporta is gone and forgotten.
I wrote "a" jealous ex, not some. He waited 1,5 years to talk about it in order to support a candidate the majority doesn't like. I don't buy it. And soci/coach Xavi is another person than player Xavi. One was valued for his skills on the pitch, the other is valued by his words and work as a coach. Both of them, mildly put, far away from his player skills.

lso, how about Messi then? Does he also falls in that category?
What has Messi to do with anything? He keeps quiet and doesn't say a word in either direction. Yes, he could confirm who lies, but he doesn't do it, because he doesn't want to be pulled into the mud fight.

Xavi spoke because his name his name was coming up in a soon to be debate.

Doesnt have to have spoken out any earlier.

Messi may have a lot more to say once the World Cup has passed.. do his words become relevant then?

Or he dismissed as some scum bag looking to damge Barca just because of Laporta also?

Laporta himself is a club legend.
And honestly, I prefer former players being accountable, rather than having same type of legends that Manu have, who will shit on everyone there

Barca has it's own history of being too attached to the past and it cost us a lot.

And tbf, we can argue that Laporta himself is sort of another "one from the past" too.

Xavi got sacked. Also admitted it was time for a change. How's that for accountability?

Where is Laporta's accountability? Spouts bullshit every day. Claims Deco built this entire team.

Laporta is nowhere the legend of Messi or Xavi. Not even close.

Not close to Cruyff or Pep either.

What level of 'accountability' does Messi or any other ex player need?

Barto never got the chance for re-election as COVID, 2-8 vs Bayern and Messi's transfer request forced him to resign.

He wasn't elected in 2010. He inherited the role after Rosell resigned. Effectively won in 2015 only.

Just proves anyone can win while riding on a good horse's back.

Everyone but Laporta. He "works hard" in his own words and wrote a book how he saved Barcelona.
