Seen locals say that Font held his own in this debate in contrast to last time around.

Laporta will still win, but it might not be the landslide everyone thought it would be. Which would also mean he would be under somewhat pressure the next years to keep delivering proactively which honestly is a good thing for the club and all the fans.
I genuinely don't think people vote on debates, they produce more confirmation bias if anything, people will just tell that the candidate they supported won, it rarely sways anyone's opinion.

Probably the results on the pitch will guide the votes as usual and Laporta will win. Few people will examine the very big picture.

The debate was generally a smear campaign from both sides, although this times Laporta was attacked harder, mainly because it is easier ss he is essentially the current president.

I agree with the above post that debates is just about confirmation bias. It will hardly matter.

Font made a nice "project" on his website, but I feel he got dragged into the populist war, and Laporta is much stronger in this regard. Being us against the world is actually very good strategy for populist candidates. Font seems to have made his campaign mostly about attacking Laporta rather than presenting his project. I feel that wasn't the best strategy.

All of this should normally be the noise of politics, but at Barcelona you never know. It is irrelevant what past club legends think, especially people who hold grudges and can't be objective.

Xavi had his chance, and he himself threw the towel. Somebody else came on, and is looking at this situation with a a much better attitude and that's that.

Laporta didn't do anything wrong, and Xavi's reaction to this only strengthens the idea that the decision to sack him was indeed the best. We already are in a bad situation with transfers and such, we don't need moaners in charge to add to the issue.

🚨🚨 BREAKING: Javier Tebas DENIES what Xavi said yesterday:

"La Liga did not authorise anything regarding Messi's return to Barcelona in 2023. They can’t register players do you really think they could sign Messi during the year the club had one of their most active transfer windows?”

Oops...

Fatty tells so many lies that he forgets what lies he has told a few moments ago...

That's why I'm surprised that Xavi risks his reputation to attack Laporta that openly. Font doesn't have realistic chances and he must know this. So he risks to further damage his name just to get some public revenge on Laporta? Doesn't seem like a rational decision, but then again he showed how emotional he was during the games as our coach, so I assume this was another emotional decision by him, he'll come to regret later.
Xavi’s IQ off the pitch has never been the same as on the pitch. I was waiting during his coaching tenure for him to become another Pep but it never came to fruition. I'm happy Laporta had enough balls to sack him

He had no other strategy over an incumbent presiding over the resurrection of the club on/off pitch

Font tried to win an election with a business plan, while Laporta will win it with an identity. In the world of Barça, identity usually wins & Font has imploded all on his own

Xavi, Xavi, Xavi v2.0

First Messi, now Pep. Font caters the most obvious desires by simply telling blatant lies. He's the typical: "Vote for me, I reduce taxes" politician. Everyone believing and voting for this must be dumber than a rock. He's as slimy as they come and Xavi supports someone like him.

Yeah, I am surprised if not altogether disappointed in Xavi but I feel similar about Leo and his Trump theatrics - don’t be fooled by your sporting heroes, they too are human & fallible. Just very surprising and like Laporta I am saddened by it more than angry

FCBarca usual shite..

No issue with Laporta putting Congo on Barca mens team...

No issue with Laporta doing deals with his Isreali mates.. who then turn out to be wanted rapists..

No issue with Laporta going to states in gulf looking for cash... when used to cry about others before him doing it.

No issue with Barca removing Unicef when for others this was most heinous of crimes.

But no no Messi is near Trump as makes a speech and he is suddenly the devil.

Absolutely nothing would be said about Messi if he didnt think Laporta was a scum bag.

Usual shite from usual numpties.
