Exactly, it seems like a simple situation: a cross-fielder. But just by looking at the camera from behind, you can see that a cross-fielder would have ended with the defender getting knocked out. Lewy decided to complicate matters a bit and scored. Torres wouldn't have scored that.

thought that at first too but in the replays i didnt see the ball touching his stomach area, went directly with a great curve into the net i think

Look at his foot in the replay. He definitely tried to chip it. The chip wasn't accidental. He was just trying to ensure that it goes in with his follow up just in case.
