9 - Robert Lewandowski

The point is at this level no top teams want penalty box strikers that hinder team tacically and redundant unless dominating game and balls into box.

Add to that he cant even press or hold up ball well deep it is a massive waste of FFP space.

Its not even his fault it is who he is., It is the fault of those that thought Barca needed to waste so much money on hm at this age.

He's definitely slow, no arguments their and we need a mobile striker in the summer.

But the default whenever we lose a game, always seems to be lewa didn't press, while ignoring he got no service.

When he gets service and fucks up. Its fair to be critical like vs PSG two season ago, comes to mind.

But we know he's slow, but will most likely score if given service and too often Once we are pressed, the midfield just fails to progress the ball to get him and yamal in dangerous positions, yamal can figure it out on his own, but that has never been lewa's game even at his best.
I agree that he is very good when he receives service but still we could benefit from a striker who has a little more in his all round game.

Sometimes in these kind of games you need a striker you can kick it long to and they can recover the ball, shield it or win a foul or something, when you cannot progress the ball through the press.

Even though Lewa is 'strong' he doesn't hold up the ball and can't rely on him as an outlet.

Of course, all of this is redundant whilst we have no budget for the moment, so we will have to get the best out of him.

To add to that as mentioned we are using a very large amount of budget space on him so its not like he is a cheap stop gap signing.

For the money spent on him we absolutely could have gone for a younger forward, the like of Osimhen etc.

But we gave him an absurd contract considering his age which has limited us in being able to look for a replacement.

The other side of Lewa being a sloth who cant run in behind or hold up ball to bring game up park is that Barca veer towards a 442 and lose men in midfield.

Fermin plays like a second striker trying to offer in behind and to get up close to Lewa when ball with him to offer options and attack like a striker when Barca break.

It ends up with almost two strikers and light in midfield often.

Starts to look like a slow CF with a tazmanian devil false nine type player. Neither of whom ball sticks with.
