He is still valuable as a 20-30min sub for now. Bigger problem is we hardly have anyone better than him to start. Ferran would be him but his scoring leaves a lot to be desired.

He’s the highest paid player at this club. No club has their highest earner as a 20-30 minute sub.

Yes he needs to go after this season when his contract is up. But he is still useful when played properly with limited minutes and tired opponent. I don't trust anyone more to score a goal when they get the ball in penalty area than him even though he also has had too many fumbles in that area past year or so.

Anyway massive improvement to have him on the bench than someone like Ansu Fati or Pau Victor from last season if we want to go for that UCL title.

When you have more money than you can spend in a life, quality of life should be the focus. Just wish it wasn't handicapping Barca.
These famous people don't think that way - they see a bigger bank balance as being a superior person. No amount is ever enough.

Me and you think that way but they don't.

Not all of them, majority of top footballers don't actually. Every top player would be playing in SA if that was true.

I am not saying it's all or nothing. Just because they're not playing in Saudi Arabia doesn't mean they don't want as much money as they can get. They still wanna play at the top of the game but they'll do anything to get more money. And the majority of them would go there when their career is finished to make as much money as they can.

They want as much money as they can get, but while in their prime their career matters to them too. But a lot of them would rather take a higher wage in Europe at a lesser team in Europe. See the mercenaries who go to the finished club Man United, like Yoro (should be at miles better team at Real Madrid but United offered much higher transfer fee and wages), Mbeumo, Cunha and many others from the past.

Furthermore, I am more talking about the elite of the elite within fields. Not your usual guy at Fulham who is an elite player relative to most pros but not right at the elite within the elite ie a world-class player or CL winner.
