I am willing to come out that you know more about real stuff.

Josef Bican has 700 goals in 450 games and 90% dont know him.

Frane Matosic has 729 goals in 739 for my team (Hajduk Split),is he a goat candidate? Has anyone here heard of him?

Lewandowski has 3 digits in the BIGGEST comp. More than Raul for example.
I know Bican, less familiar with Matosic. Bican is my point. Great player but nobody cares because it was 'prehistoric times' (their words, not mine).

Lewa has scored a lot of goals in CL, but how many big games that he changed stand in the memory? Other than the Real game for Dortmund.

He has few and far between career defining moments in CL , yes, but 3 digits is unreal input.

But Mara will hate him because he didnt score a hattrick :pique:
On the contrary, if he scored one goal but played much better in general play than with three, I would rave over him.

See Haaland the other day - two lovely goals, but what most impressed me was his better link up play and defensive headers. Was refreshing to see his game evolve (and hope he maintains it).

What's the point though if they get the team nowhere? Ultimately his teams won one covid CL, so what did those goals in smaller games achieve?

THIS IS MY POINT! Individual goal records are meaningless in football - all that matters is what how many goals the TEAM scores, and how many the TEAM wins and achieves.

Ronaldo for instance cannibalises his teams' goals and makes them play much more one dimensionally to feed him - which is why he was constantly bounced from the CL after leaving Real and cannot win a thing in Saudi. Now, obviously there's more at play there than just him, but his selfishness is a factor. Same with lewa to a lesser degree.

Guys like Temptation wank over goal stats of individual players without getting that it's irrelevant if the team isn't successful.

What more can I say?

I am sorry I cant contribute more to this post.

I am the kinda guy who sees Haaland batter Moldova and instantly think "oh he scored bunch,he deserves a 9 or 10"

Why lie?

Yeah he deserves 9 or 10 for scoring five in that game in that game in isolation. Moldova are improving but they're still a minnow. So the context has to be he was playing against Moldova and the result would be the same had they scored 3 and not 9 or 10 or whatever they got.

His performance against a much better team in Man United was more impressive despite fewer goals (they're rubbish but still miles better than Moldova lol, though City are also a lot better than Norway).

You realise that game has no bearing on Norway's future success, so ultimately matters little they battered them (except maybe for GD qualification reasons).

I dont know what to say, been trying for 10 minutes now.

Spend too much time on here, just because I post nowhere near as much doesnt mean I dont read it most of the day.

Lewa is awesome,so is Haaland.

If you notice patterns,in every thread I say "oh Vinicus needs x games to score,Chiesa has 7 in 51 so hes overrated"

Numbers are everything to me.

I just cant contribute THAT much on a football forum,no matter how much I try. Sucks.

Never forget the old saying. Numbers are like miniskirts, - they show a fair amount but hide the most important parts.

dont know what to say anymore.

Frane Matosic scored 729 goals for my local team and I bet not a single soul on here has heard of him (except maybe Croatians on here).
He's a new one for me, for sure. And I know guys like Sindelar, Meazza, Leonidas, Jose Andrade, Stabile and Arthur Friedenreich. Names lots of modern fans won't be familiar with.
