He kept it under control as the touch deflected off his shin and down to his foot.

Fortunate.

Decent but not all that impressive in reality but adjusted his balance well once ball luckily lands on foot.

“I think it’s one of the best matches you can play at club level. Paris is one of the best in the world, and I think we’re the best. It’ll be a great match,” Pedri said, highlighting the anticipation surrounding the encounter.

The Spaniard also spoke about recent praise from Manchester United legend Paul Scholes. Staying humble, he explained,

“It’s nice, I’m taking it as motivation. I know it’s difficult to get close to the level of Xavi and Iniesta, but it’s a compliment.”
“All of us who are Barça fans want to get that revenge. Next year, you can achieve what you left behind, and we all want to play in these games.”

Pedri was also asked about his physical progress after Barcelona’s training routines changed this season. He revealed,

“The club’s physical preparation has changed radically. It’s fun to play every three days, but it’s true that sometimes your legs do feel more strained.”
Despite finishing 11th in the Ballon d’Or rankings, Pedri insisted he values the affection he receives from supporters,

“I feel valued at my club, at the national team. That’s the most important thing. I’m left with the affection of the fans.”

The midfielder also spoke about missing teammates Jona Garcia and Gavi.

“When you go through surgery, it’s not easy. It will turn out better than when they were there. They’re both fighters.”

Looking ahead to his individual battle with PSG’s Vitinha, Pedri stressed the importance of midfield control.

“We’re players who like to have the ball, not chase it. The three players who play for each team will be very important and can tip the balance in favour of either team.”

Finally, Pedri addressed his growing leadership role under Hansi Flick, “The coach tells me that.

“He wants me to take a step forward, not only on the pitch but also in the locker room.

It’s been difficult for me, because I came here as a kid, but I’m feeling more important and I’m embracing that role.”

As for expectations, he concluded, “Both teams are favourites tomorrow. It will be one of the best matches, if not the best.”

Covered 11KM in 78 minutes tells you everything you need to know today, it was just him in Midfield after 20 minutes.

Imagine if they had a full Midfield with everyone fit

The moment he leaves we completely cede control. I mean a light drop is okay, but cmon can't be this reliant on one player. We couldn't bring out the ball at all after he left.
