How he is not in the conversation for Ballon 'Or year in year out is beyond me.

Absolute gem and getting the nod of the best English player of all time is just a testament.

These players rarely get the headlines unless they have personalities or PR like Zizou for example. He is extraordinary, waiting on my newly ordered shirt of his to arrive - went with the mamba kit

He has a substantial fanbase though. Always gets mentioned here by pundits as fan favourite.

edit: You mean in context of balon dor?
Yeah maybe.

He probably needs a more offensive role, where his skills can be used at its fullest. Offensive roled player also gains more recognization. Something like AMC like @Porque

Those 7 minutes added times, he basically takes on the entire Newcastle's team with his skills alone.

He needs to win World Cup i think and play a key role but even then tough to outshine someone like Yamal. Unlucky for him, he got injured in the Euro. :(

That's a bit like Iniesta's trajectory too, it has to be the next step which we've already seen signs of it evolving under Flick

Like an Iniesta, whom, let's be honest, will inextricably and habitually linked to Pedri is an extraordinary footballer. A player that can surpass Andres for me which includes the WC - it depends on him IMHO. His personality is a facilitator of the team's collective genius rather than executor - when he is proactive, it's just like early Iniesta for me

But now he has even greater talent in teammates than I think Andres had so finding your moments is a balance, fortunately his personality forces him to defer to the team

Who knows what his ceiling is but he is only 22 years of age - that's when Iniesta really arrived in CL 2006. We're really lucky and I am thrilled that he has managed to stay injury free - what a god damn relief

And some said Pedri and De Jong were too weak for Newcastle’s midfield. But with world-class technique like this duo has you simply can’t press them. It worked with Iniesta & Xavi and it works with De Jong & Pedri.

Who said that? Physicality is a concern and concerned me, but when you have the technique and football IQ of Pedri it will always matter more. As I said strength and pace are levelers, but technical ability and football IQ tends to win out when it's as astronomically high as Pedri and De Jong's.

I don't have Facebook.

Probably just people who always think negatively or worst-case scenario, or think physicality is the main thing in football over technique. It makes sense if they were English football fans as they always place a premium on athleticism and have underestimated how Barcelona play the game.
