Toni Kroos about Pedri:
"That's a player you miss when he's not playing. He doesn't just score goals, he doesn't just set up goals, he gives you solutions. In my eyes, a Pedri like that is almost more important than a Yamal, than a Raphinha, than Lewandowski. Those are the decision-makers, but to get there, Pedri is currently the best there is in that position in my eyes - and that's saying something, because I have white Real Madrid eyes," said Kroos.
"Pedri is one of the very few midfielders in this position who has the ability to dribble past someone in a confined space. That's actually the supreme discipline, that you're able to outplay an opponent with just one pass. Or with a short dribble. Pedri helps you in all phases of the game: against high pressing, because he's able to solve that, or against a deep block, because he's able to find solutions and spaces there too," explained the 35-year-old, backing up his words with figures.
Kroos: "I had a look at what Pedri is doing this season: In the Champions League, he's outplaying 52 opponents per game, which makes him better than 91 percent of all other players in his position. He outplayed eleven defenders per game, which is better than 97 percent of all other players in his position. It's even more extreme in the league season, where he outplays 59 opponents per game, which is better than 97 percent of all LaLiga players in his position - and twelve defenders per game, which is a mega amount. He's better than 100 percent, which means he's the best."
