Sorry, not even close. In the World Cup he was abysmal. In CL non existent so far. How can he be the best player when he's a non-factor at the elite level so far?

He's very close to Gavi. A talented young player with amazing potential, that in time can become elite. But at the present, he's not that amazing as people believe, and the big games show it.

Let's see him back in the return leg of the Copa, and next season in CL, against the top teams.

Don't want to hate on him as he's still great considering his age, but... really not a great player yet past La Liga level. I'd say it's very likely he will get there in 2-3 years time.

Gavi is not half the player Pedri currently is.

Let's be serious please.

Complete fabrication. On transfermarkt one is rated at 100m the other at 90m. Gavi is not the usual Barca midfielder compared to technical Pedri so it's somewhat normal fans prefer Pedri.

But anyway, neither is amazing in the present and both are valued for what they can be considering their very young age. They show bits and pieces of great stuff, but consistency is not there.

On transfermarkt Pedri is our most valuable player ergo he must be our best player then?

No, they are valued very highly because of their very young age. But it does show that their potential is somewhat viewed as similar, and it's very much an aesthetic choice between them.

regardless of the one you prefer, De Jong and Dembele (the Xavi version) are currently better than both.

Pedri
Mats
Araujo
Dembele

Our best players this season over it's entirety so far, easily not even debatable.

After that it's
Lewa before the WC
De jong since he's been back in the team, people forget he was on the bench & play pretty meh when given the chance before the switch to 4 in Midfield.

Those are the top 6.

Non factor? He's probably the single biggest reason we're at the top of the table now, coming up with big goals when no one else could find a solution in the league in multiple occasions.

If elite level is the measuring stick de jong has been failing at that for 4 years straight now.

Same for Dembele.

The same Transfermarkt that tells you Fede Valverde is worth 100m. Lol.

Its ok if you know nothing about a team and just want a base level indicator of strength but beyond surface level it's useless.

Especially if you're a dedicated fan of a team you should no way be using it to judge the players you watch yourself every game.

We watch both Gavi and Pedri every game and it's clear as day that Pedri is far better. Why do you need to use some dumb transfer rating site run by volunteers to tell you something else when you can see with your eyes?
