6 - Gavi

He does what the team requires him to do. Right now we need a runner hunting down opponents. When we eventually play a classic 433 he will showcase his immense quality more.

When we eventually play a classic 433

Hopefully, we are years away from it.

Gavi has incredible technique.

To give a concrete example it was clear Gavi was more offensive minded and far more creative in his first season here.

Gavi has good technique in ball controlling and escaping pressure. That was always clear tbh

However, he badly lacks in creating chances and breaking the defense with passes. And while this is an area that most players develop as they grow, it doesn't mean everyone gets it.

For me, this will be the area that will decide what type of player he will develop into, he might get stuck into the hardman guy if he doesn't become more creative with bis passing

Gavi has incredible technique. There are tons of videos of him in Barca training doing insane manuevers with the ball.
But applying it in a game context is really different because it requires tactical and mental awareness to know which situations to apply it in and how to execute it in the best way possible.

Currently Gavi's tactical awareness is poor and I believe his development has been held back by the hard man act and the praise from the fans for that. He was being pushed in the wrong direction over the last 2 years.

To give a concrete example it was clear Gavi was more offensive minded and far more creative in his first season here. But he started to be deployed in a more defensive role and eventually adopted the scruffy doo emblem, which isn't the best way to represent his skillset at all.

Gavi still has big potential to unlock once he figures out how to use his skills instead of playing the hard man.

I believe Flick as he has done with many other players is getting the best out of him and helping him to improve on attacking.

Grade A koolaid, impressive really.

I think in part that Xavi didn't really have an idea of how to utilize him, or to be more precise, how to communicate and/or train him properly to his best utility.

Casado, Gavi, even Kessie while wanting to keep Bob for 24/25 season.

Thankfully fresh manager and fresh eyes and different direction.

It gets the best out of both Gavi and pedri.
We saw it when Gavi just got promoted and benched De jong.

That's the gavi his haters keep talking about 433 Gavi, we haven't seen him in that setup in years.

It's been 4222 or 4231.

He and pedri looked great their, we just can't play it without a top DM, like rodri, busquets.

Maybe bernal will be that guy.

He played equally well under Xavi. Let's not forget that.

Nah I'm not fooled by a couple good results. No one can learn intelligence which he doesn't have.

Low IQ players should have no place in Barca. We should sell him this summer.
The only problem with Gavi is that he try too hard to be a tough man, Gattuso type of player/personality.

Nothing wrong with his football iq.

Completely different playing with no space.

But saying that, he was subbed off for Olmo, but why didn't Olmo enter the pitch?

Needs to abandon his tough guy act. It’s pointless, and nobody’s impressed. Time to grow up.

Olmo should have started today like I said in the chat.

Flick for a bit carried away.

Or stick with Olmo and gavi, false 9.
