6 - Gavi

Fair chance Gundogan could end up at DM beside Gavi if Romeu is constantly this shite and Xavi stops starting him so often.

If Gavi then got suspended probably by Romeu/Christensen DM and Gundo box to box of the two deeper mids.

He needs to stop trying to tackle anything that moves.. he left so much space yesterday by trying that then gets booked early doors for it also.

Gundogan has played DM, box to box and an AM in past with City.

He needs to keep doing what he has been doing this season. Playing great at the moment, with offensive end product.

One of the three main protagonists for the comeback, along with Cancelo and Lewa. He pulled out his inner Frenkie when most needed. What a ball for the winner.

Starting to show more strings to his bow. If continues this progress he will be one of the few midfielders in the world that can do a bit of everything to a high standard.

Looked fantastic on the ball. Expected jump in quality at 19 (like Pedri). But to be fair hard to tell since he just now plays his best position regularly.

Also won 3 or so balls that led to our best chances.

Thought he had very good spell in first half when was best on park and created good chance for Ferran.

Second not as good and some sloppy give aways and didnt feel as involved defensively or offensively as first but still ok.

He will pair well with FDJ once Xavi realises Romeu cant play DM but his current position.

That would then take FDJ away from left box to box role where he is best in team at but needs must when fuck up the DM position.

Longer term the options could be a 'proper' DM and keep Gavi in his box to box role but put FDJ at CB position where has freedom to go into midfield.

He's doing better with a string of games in midfield. But just as his debut season, it coincides with the unavailability of Pedri.

It's been hard to have Gavi play well partnered with Pedri before, so will be interesting to see how Xavi manages the options when he is back and fit. Along with Frenkie of course.

Not unless he chooses to drop Felix, and go back to a mid quartet.

I think he would drop Felix at times and have Pedri as the AML and keep Gavi box to box.

Raphinha is another option in that midfield four to play at AM also now and Xavi seems have to warmed to that idea.

It is a position last season argued could well suit him more than touchline winger.

Our best players are all injury prone, forget about Messi, Suarez, Busi who played all games whole season.

De Jong, Pedri, Araujo, Christensen are all injury problematic, we need to have bigger bench then last season.

Imagine if instead of Pedri we needed to play Roberto.
