5 - Pau Cubarsí

He is clearly a good footballer but doesn't have the grit of Martinez or arujo and arguably even Eric garcia who is smaller . He is like stegen in defense, good somewhat but doesn't impart fear in attackers especially when it comes to physical contact. U cannot play as a defender with a suit on.. even the classiest defenders of all time like Nesta and Maldini were as gritty as it can be when needed. Well.. young. He has the age advantage.

Stones was the same when he moved to City, and he was already 22. Cubarsi is fine in physical duels. He usually gets done by dribbling/pace

Don't like what I've seen from the Araujo - Cubarsí pairing so far, end of last season included.

I get that Flick wants to solidify a CB pair for the XI, but I think Christensen should be more involved. We know he has a good partnership with Araujo, and might just suit Cubarsí better aswell, not to mention he can play LCB so Cubarsí can stay on the right.

If nothing else, then maybe just to take some load of a young kid's shoulders(if he needs it?)

Not a good game from him.

He is better at RCB but Araujo is so damn awful on the ball he can play there.

Also missing the organisation of Inigo and missed FDJ on front of him as hold better shape in team.

I would like us to try starting Christensen with Kounde as CBs and benching both Cubarsi and Araujo. This should serve as a double purpose, penalize them for pretty often shite performances, and see how we do with another CB pair, provided Garcia can hold his own at RB.

Cubarsi gets away with too many shite showings. Was a disaster vs Madrid too, Inter, other games also. This was not an isolated incident where he had a poor game after good ones, but more like an indication that he's doing worse and worse, now he's getting folded with ease by strikers from newly promoted teams.

It's about time Flick holds him accountable and sends a warning sign by benching him.
