I would like us to try starting Christensen with Kounde as CBs and benching both Cubarsi and Araujo. This should serve as a double purpose, penalize them for pretty often shite performances, and see how we do with another CB pair, provided Garcia can hold his own at RB.

Balance between that and trying to play them into form and getting a cohesive partnership at the back.. if that is possible.

Flick has shown before that he will do that.

Much prefer Cubarsi on the RCB though. Suits him on ball more and that more quality on that side of park nearer to Yamal.

If Araujo plays RCB inveitbaly FDJ will be used to baby sit him and drop more for ball. Dont like that.

I like Kounde and Christensen more in theory. But then I rate those two the highest from all the backline defensively, quite curious that they both were on the bench in this tricky away game.

Think we will see some changes vs Rayo though.

I do agree that Inigo, even hough he had errors in him, is starting to be missed. From this point onwards, every funds we dispose of need to be invested in defense. We need at least 2 good signings there.

Do that, and we can talk about this squad approaching elite level. Until then, no. Between personnel issues and manager style, the defense is the worst out of any top team around.

Is it worse than the likes of Real or City? Bayern?
