Mental health is not just a part of everyday life for society but sport & football as well. Naive to think anyone knows but him what he is going through and that should be respected, not ridiculed

This is what I was thinking, and some reports now is that he wasn't at his best state mentally before the Chelsea game.

It seems he had an issue and this game was just the last straw for him, or maybe he realised that he can't contribute while he is at this mental state.

I keep going back to this example, but I remember how Hleb admitted his failure in Barca was due to private issues that made him ignore football all together. Adriano is another clear example, after his dad's death he was completely different, etc. iirc, Bravo last few months here and while at City, there was reports of his kid having health issue, Lucho also took a break from NT without explanation at the time, and we later found out.

The list goes on, he could be soft player or whatever, but could be suffering something that we have no right to know. I just don't think he is someone who totally loses it after a red card.

If he is communicating with the club and they are ok with this decision, I am all good with it tbh.

Wish him well, he seems like a nice guy who loves Barca. It's not the end of the world, it's only a game and he gets paid millions to play it. I know the pressure is huge but there are much worse things possible in life than making a mistake during a game and he'll be rich from it anyway. There are people losing their jobs and not be able to feed their children, let's not overblow this.

I liked him but it just doesn't make sense to continue together. It's better for him to leave and start fresh. For Barca it's not better because the amateurs will let him go for free and aren't capable of signing a replecement so we'll just have another CB less. We'll just have 1 real CB (that doesn't primarily play other positions) in a 18 year old kid. Great job planning the squad Deco&Laporta.

Take this guy off CB and just use him like the old days as a LW stopper RB. He can foul them all game out there without worrying about a PK or red. Guy used to body slam Vini every game in his prime no foul
