He's obviously mentally very down right now.

He's asked for an extended break which the club allowed.

Unlikely to happen, but the best thing would be him moving on to a new club in January with us being able to sign his replacement early.

This is our club captain lol. He should be owning up to the mistake and growing from it. Him having this reaction to his own fuck up is laughable.

It’s very unfortunate we have no money because he needs to go/be replaced ASAP.

Most likely he's had some type of mental breakdown due to all the screw ups and criticism from fans etc. Might need to see a sports psychologist to get his head right. Best solution is to move him in January where he can get a fresh start and club gets a better defender.

Feels like when Xavi played the 'I will resign as press are horrible to me' card to shift the narrative away from own mistakes and building heat.

Few weeks/months later when furore has died down hope all is forgotten.

To paraphrase The Sopranos: "This is our captain now."

This is becoming a comedy. I feel for Ronald, but his request is unprofessional. Football is just a sport that pay extremely well, it's not like the death of a relative. And the best way to overcome the misery is to keep going, not hide in a hole.

Captains should radiate confidence and Ronald's aura has completely evaporated. Raphinha is the true captain, Frenkie is confident and if wasn't for his age Lamine would be my first pick. The kid at 18 has it all - confidence, skills and leadership mentality.

I mean I can respect him for this at least. I would react the same way if I fucked up like that in front of the whole world. At least it shows he understand how monumental his error was. But regardless, with this being the third massive fuck up it's time for him to move on to a new club.
