Araujo is the latter. It has gone waaay past the point where we can say "all players make mistakes"

We can find a ton of konate & VVD just this season, and they were help at the high water mark.

He's getting the heat now, so someone went through & found all of his.

That video is odious. Why a Barca fan would make it to try and re-write history negatively for one of our players, God only knows. Smacks of throwing toys out of the pram.

Facts are he was a beast under Xavi and like every other defender who is a beast, he made the odd mistake. ( Van Dijk made plenty in his golden years. )

Araujo made a mistake against PSG and the fanbase overreacted massively. He then compounded that with a geriatric cameo Vs Inter. Then came the debacle at Chelsea.

He has been bad for a while now and almost certainly has no future here, but there is no need to change the facts. He was one of the Top 3 defenders in the world in Xavi's league title win.

That video is as disingenuous as me making a video cherry picking all his best moments in the last year and claiming he is world class.

Araujo wasn't average, he had all the attributes to become great. But his rich injury history and poor judgement resulted in this disaster of a captain we have.

Except decent technique and football brain. Physically yeah, he had things going for him, and regarding his stupid decisions and poor technique, people thought he could improve those. He never did and only got worse as the level of competition increased and so did the club's ambitions.

Last time he was out team and making fuck ups when played they gave him a new contract with juicy wage rise.

A few months later he fucks up v Dortmund and Inter... they let go of players starting ahead of him and talk up his future at club.
