4 - Ronald Araújo

I was a fan for a long time, wanted a physical and fast CB after all those years of slow and weak defenders in Barca. He was very good under Koeman and Xavi, amazing in some games. He had weaknesses like ball playing but he was improving and it wasn't such a problem. Looked like a leader too.

He looks lost after PSG tie and the injury but now there won't be big offers for him like there would be 2 years ago if we sold him.

At least I think he won't be a leach like some, he'll demand a transfer if he won't play for a long period of time.

There should still be a big club that think they can bring back his upper level. Hell, it may even be us next season. I don't know if Inigo will play such a high level next year. Players like him tend to have up and down dips.

Atleast this CL exit will keep us motivated next season. With Madrid, PSG, Inter, City etc all going to the WCC, we will have a little more rest, a better pre-season and hopefully a few signings to bolster the squad.

A club with a functioning sporting department could easily sell him for 50+ mil even after this season but we're talking about Barca.

I think he would be very good at a club that plays a different system, Cholo are you reading?

You're welcome
He can play for plenty of teams that are more defensive or play much lower. Don’t think he’s all too bad defending box with back to goal.

His passing also way too weak for Barca. There was a moment where he tried to pass to Martin to left said with no Inter players in sight and he almost kicked it out of field.

This isn't a mistranslation if its not accompanied by anything else, I have read the statements in Spanish being attributed to him and both of them are very different, in one of them it is claiming he mentioned Dumfries and in the other he is blaming Martin.

We will need to watch the video to see what he said in this case.

Anyway, fuck him, who cares.

Morning after this still feels horrible. This terrorist needs to be shipped far away from this club! He already costed us 2 CL eliminations and even now he has ZERO self criticism?!?! At least now we know why Flick prefers Eric over him.

What's even worse is the fact that he really believes he defended well in those two situations. That's the saddest part of the story. What a captain we have...

He showed consistency. Gave the same level of attention to a 37 year old centerback as he did to Marcus Thuram.
Interesting fact, Acerbi actually recovered from cancer twice in his career. At 25 years old.

12 years after he is owning a guy who is meant to be a physical specimen. Crazy.

Araujo needs to hang his head in shame. What a disasterclass.

If he gets bullied by tired players and old players despite coming in fresh with his physical stature and athleticism then he has no redeeming qualities left.

Although it’s his lack of awareness even after all these years which is the concern here.

Will be for his best and ours for him to leave. He has no future here if even his best qualities gets exposed like this.

Change those 2 CLs to 7-8 and this post could be about another player.

Ansu Fati treatment simple as that. If he doesn't find a team to pay money for him, semi-permanent bench role is his destiny. Might as well go on loan, whatever. Just get him out for next season. Either by a permanent deal for some money, even 25-30m would do, or if not, force a loan by making it clear to him that he'll be 5th choice CB.

So far, until last season, he was a player you could maybe sell for a high offer. Now that ship has sailed, he is a proven bum that you simply need to get rid of asap.

We will find 40-50m for him. His physical profile will give him a good market in the EPL. That's no problem. One of the rich English teams will happily take him.

The problem is going to be selling him in the first place, we might have to take harsh measures to convince him to leave anyway. I doubt he will leave considering that, and he might regain some of his level here next season.

I mainly just don't want to see him playing CL knockouts again. Even as a sub.

I doubt it. Seems like Juventus knew what to bid for him very well. 25-30m player at best considering he is pretty much useless on the ball and on top of that his CB positioning skills are abysmal. When you add over that a 3rd cataclysmic flaw which is his uncanny ability to ruin his team with blunders... you have the complete package for a ticking time bomb of a CB. He can cause you season-ruining errors in a huge variety of ways. Shite pass giveaway, idiotic red cards, idiotic pens, losing markers, botched clearances, you name the error, this guy can make it happen for the opponent.

Ah, forgot one. He's also injury prone. Which in hindsight, might have been an advantage for us in the last 2 seasons. Too bad he was fit for the bigger games.

There's nothing in him to sell for 50m. You'd need one clueless buyer for that to happen. Even United is not that dumb.

Not to top teams. They won't be interested for that price because they have better options.

However, I can see top half English teams coming in for him, the likes of Tottenham, West Ham, United, Wolves, Palace etc. They will be willing to overpay if he's available as he will be a good option for their level.

I think he will not leave though. He is too prideful and egotistical to leave on such a note.
