35 - Gerard Martín

He exceeded my expectations tbh.
Expecting any offensive product from him is too much, and the same could be said about anyone playing LB not named Balde.

But he managed to not fuck up, or make himself getting abused from Real Madrid attacks.

Until Balde is back, that's what we need to get from whoever plays LB
Me too, I am surprised by the criticism against him. His 1st half anyway, was excellent IMHO

One thing I hope coaches or teammates will encourage him to do is to actually find the balance between putting in a cross/pass in that final third vs actually taking it into the box himself. Don't think he made one run into the box with the ball but understandable considering age, circumstances etc but I do think he has to do it

When he got the yellow I thought Madrid would put every attack down that side and stick Mbappe to play off him.

Would have been the logical thing unless Flick brought Fort on.

Yea me too, Carlo is an idiot for not exploiting this obvious weakness.

It's not so much he played well, he had two good tackles, against rodrygo as much as Madrid failing to be smart.

he was good defensively initially, but the LW became a black hole. It felt like everytime a pass went to his flank there was a turnover. Horrendous passing

Wtf is wrong with Hansi? Sometimes I think some coaches have a personal project with a youth player they really like, so they only see the few good things and ignore everything else.

There’s a new concept below absolute zero. Name: Gerard Martin

Not his fault though, he is what he is, but Flick is an imbecile when it comes to this guy.

Flick had enough of Martin. He's liability in big games and brings nothing, especially in attack. Not saying there's no chance Martin starts La Liga games for load management, but his CL involvement is definitely over.

Yeah, he should not have played, it was pretty much a given before the game, but kind of understand flick for this match with limited or unproven alternatives
